Unfortunately todays Summer Sports Jam session at Thurnscoe has been cancelled due to weather.

We know many of you were looking forward to joining us, but the safety of our families, children, staff and volunteers must come first.

For Charlie, Barnsley Bike Works has been a game changer for both physical and mental wellbeing.

E-Bikes can help make cycling more accessible, giving people the confidence and support to be active in a way that works for them. 🚴‍♂️

The walkers on the Better Health Walks have hit over 500,000 steps already this month!

They should hit 1 million by the end of the month. 👏

A new business is opening in Barnsley town this weekend.

With support from Barnsley Council's Supported Employment service, a local business idea has grown into Skate & Bake - a skate shop, coffee shop and community space inspired by Barnsley's skating community.

🗓 Opening Saturday 15 August
⏰ 8am to 5pm
📍 2 Eastgate (through the brown double doors and up to the second floor)

It's a great example of how the service supports people to develop ideas, access specialist advice and take steps towards self-employment.

We're offering free walk leader training for people who would like to support local wellbeing walks across the borough.

The training includes online learning and a practical session. Once qualified, you'll have the opportunity to help lead community walks. 🚶‍➡️
