Our Titans U11s were back on court this morning for a friendly tournament to help get them ready for the new season! 💙🏐

We had three Titans teams taking part - Planets, Nebulae & Milky Way - and despite a very misty and wet morning, all of our players did brilliantly! 🌧️👏

More importantly, we were so pleased to see great teamwork from all three teams, with everyone supporting, encouraging and backing each other up on court. 💙🙌

A huge well done to all our players - you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves, especially for battling through the wet and slippery conditions! 🌧️💪

We can’t wait for the league season to properly get underway! 🏐💙

⚡️LIGHTNING | FIRST GAME OF THE NEW SEASON

A tough one in Bath today, but plenty of positives to take from our first outing with this new-look Lightning squad. 💙

With just one original Lightning player on court, we always knew it was going to be a tough challenge, but the team showed great spirit, some really good netball and plenty of fight throughout. 👊🏼

For a whole new team, it was a brilliant opportunity to gain experience, get to know each other on court and start building something together. We think everyone enjoyed the experience - and with time, this team can only get better! 🔥

A huge congratulations to Emilia and Lydia on making their Lightning debuts! 👏🏼💙 This is a definite step up to another level for both girls, but they handled the challenge superbly and showed exactly why they have earned their opportunity. We’re sure they’ll be a fantastic asset to this Lightning squad as the season progresses. ⚡️

And a special mention to Emilia (U16) who was awarded Titans Player of the Match, while Kat was chosen as the opposition’s Player of the Match - a fantastic achievement in a tough game! 👏🏼🔥

Well done to Bath Cougars Fury on a great win and thank you for the fast paced game. 💙

The North Devon netball winter league fixtures were back in action last night. The teams are back to playing 1 hour matches of 4, 15 minute quarters. The player of each match is chosen by the opposing team. Just 3 Titans teams took to the court last night, heres the results …

Jupiters played Carol Anne Topaz, it was a wobbly start going 7-1 down in the first few minutes, but Jupiters pulled their Titans socks up and bought it back to 8-7 at the end of the first Q. With 9 players available the second Q saw some positional changes which enabled Jupiters to maintain their flow, Topaz did step it up a gear and extended their lead to 18-12.
More changes in Q3 and something clicked, it was Jupiters turn to up their game, winning the Q by 1 goal, and you know what they say when you win Q3!! You win the game!! and that is exactly what Jupiters did. Q4 captain Kim swapped in at GA and was an impact player changing the game immensely and rumbling Topaz’s defence. This paired with a great shooting partnership with Lauren O meant goal after goal was sunk. Topaz’s mid court were unsettled which allowed Jupiters to intercept and tip balls, disrupting play and capitalising on the balls won! A really great first game for Jupiters. What a whole team effort! Final score was 34-28 with POM going to Kim 💙

Titans Galaxy had their opening match of the season against Bude Jets. It was a nervy start after a couple of months off and with unfamiliar player combinations. They rallied in the 2nd half to get within one goal of Bude. Unfortunately they didn’t quite gel in the second half and despite a late comeback in the final quarter, they lost 12-23. Player went to Megan ❤️

Titans Mercury were thrown straight in at the deep end in their opening match against CA Diamonds. Despite leading by 1 goal at half time, they couldn’t quite maintain the pace in Q3, and a few mistakes allowed CA to pull away. Final score 45-34. player went to Lydia. 💙

Titans junior regional teams played in the charity pre-season tournament at Exeter today 💙✨🚀

The U14s started the day with great intensity winning their first matches. This was enough to ensure a place in the quarter finals. Despite an early lead they couldn’t quite hold on and then Phoenix capitalised on our errors to move through to the semis.

The U16s took the court in the afternoon with similar success. It was great for all the girls to play in every game and start to form connections. They finished as runners-up 🥈

A new look Lightning travelled to Bristol for the pre-season tournament. A number of the players only met each other on arrival and 3 U16s stepped up to senior level for the first time so we knew it was going to be a challenge.

The first match was against Dart 2nds and Lightning started very slowly going 1-5 down. They rallied and closed the gap when Charlotte was injured - her little finger pointed in a different direction 🤢. Everyone was slightly unsettled but became more determined and dominated to take a 20-10 victory.

Next up was Hucclecote and the connections were working well. CC and Jodi were quick through the mid-court and Olive and Holly found the net with ease, winning convincingly.

The final two pool games were against Babylon and Romans-both of whom finished 1st and 2nd overall. Titans kept with each game for large parts but an error or missed shot was capitalised on.

Finished 3rd in the pool they played off for 5th/6th. Fatigue set in and Titans were off the pace for the first 8 minutes. They then found their groove for a while but couldn’t sustain it despite some great interceptions from Teah and Rhiannon, therefore finishing 6th.

Our juniors Emilia, Layla and Lydia were superb and did not look out of place against any opponent.

Thanks to Barb for driving Charlotte to A&E, and we’re grateful they were able to realign her finger quickly and she was back to support.
