Did you know otters are making a comeback in the heart of Bedfordshire on the River Great Ouse?
Once rarely seen, these incredible animals are now being spotted regularly in the heart of the town thanks to cleaner water and the hard work of local conservation groups. Their return is a wonderful reminder of how important it is to protect and care for our rivers.
A special thank you to Jon Pauling for these fantastic photos of one of the Ouse's most elusive and beloved residents.

The River Great Ouse is full of amazing wildlife, and one of its most special residents is the kingfisher. These stunning little birds are incredibly shy and often give away their presence with a sharp, high-pitched call before darting off in a flash of blue.
A big thank you to our friend Ben Jenkins for capturing these beautiful photos. If you'd like the best chance of spotting a kingfisher for yourself, head out for an early morning paddle!
