Our lone catamaran charging around the course was Tom Thwaites, pushing his Rookie Racer F4 entry to the limit as he seized every second of water time to trial propellers, dial in setups, and carve out fast, confident lines with real intent.

Hydros – British Masters Championship 2026

Round 2 Points Summary

The Hydros class delivered an eventful and unpredictable Round 2 at Stewartby, with only two heats completed before racing was halted. Despite the shortened programme, all four competitors showed commitment and competitive spirit, making the most of the limited track time.

Thomas Mantripp ( #12) secured the overall lead with 700 points, opening the day with a strong heat win followed by a solid second place in Heat 2. His early pace proved decisive once the remaining heats were marked as not run.

In second place, Wayne Turner ( #9) delivered an impressive Heat 2 victory after a challenging start, earning 569 points and demonstrating excellent adaptability across changing conditions.

Paul Hart ( #55) finished third with 525 points, maintaining consistency across both heats with a second and third place. His steady approach kept him well positioned in the standings.

James Green ( #19) completed the table with 225 points, securing third place in Heat 1 before the schedule was cut short. His performance showed promise despite the reduced running.

With testing and training completed on Day 1 and Round 2 curtailed on Day 2, the Hydros class will look ahead to future rounds for further opportunities to build momentum. OSY400 – British Masters Championship 2026

Round 2 Points Summary

The OSY400 class produced an exciting and unpredictable Round 2 at Stewartby, with all four competitors delivering determined performances across a varied set of heats. The points table reflects a day of strong pace, tactical racing, and impressive resilience throughout the fleet.

Ben Sallis ( #64) secured the overall win with 1200 points, delivering three consecutive heat victories after a solid second place in Heat 1. His consistency and speed across the day made him the standout performer in the class.

Finishing second, Ben Prewer ( #73) opened the day with a commanding heat win, but a zero point Heat 2 forced him to fight back through the remaining races. His recovery, including a second place in Heat 4, earned him 925 points and demonstrated real determination.

In third place, Jason Mantripp ( #51) delivered a steady and reliable performance, securing 825 points through a balanced set of second and third place finishes. His consistency kept him firmly in contention throughout the day.

Brodie Lane ( #27) completed the standings with 563 points, showing commitment across all four heats. Despite challenging conditions, she maintained focus and delivered a determined performance from start to finish.

T850 – British Masters Championship 2026

Round 2 Points Summary

The T850 class delivered a superb display of competitive powerboat racing at Stewartby for Round 2 of the British Masters Championship 2026. All four drivers demonstrated skill, discipline, and determination across a full programme of heats, resulting in a tightly contested points table.

Nigel Edwards ( #16) claimed the top position with an outstanding performance, securing three heat wins and a strong second place in Heat 2. His total of 1200 points reflects both consistency and pace, marking him as the standout competitor of the day.

Finishing second overall, Mike Manning ( #35) put in a highly competitive run, taking a heat win and maintaining solid results throughout to earn 1120 points. His reliability across all four heats kept the pressure firmly on the leader.

In third place, Andy Hood ( #42) delivered a clean sweep of third place finishes, demonstrating steady control and race craft to achieve 972 points. His consistency was a defining feature of the class.

Steve Olney ( #57) completed the standings with 876 points, showing determination and commitment across all heats. His uniform set of fourth place finishes highlights a solid performance throughout the day.

Mason Jessup ( #1) secured the top spot with an exceptional run of three consecutive heat wins, followed by a strong second place in Heat 4. His total of 1200 points reflects a commanding performance and reinforces his position as a leading contender in the 2026 championship.

Jamie Atlee ( #18) claimed second overall with 1120 points, recovering brilliantly after a zero point Heat 2. His victories in Heat 4 and solid finishes elsewhere demonstrated resilience and competitive pace.

In third place, Ethan Goodfellow ( #7) delivered a consistent set of results, finishing third in three heats to earn 972 points. His steady approach kept him firmly in contention throughout the day.

Richard Hibbert ( #72) rounded out the standings with 944 points, showing strong improvement with a second place finish in Heat 2 and maintaining reliable form across the remaining heats.

Riley Hudson (Race No. 21) secured the top position overall with a commanding performance, taking two heat wins and maintaining strong finishes across all races. His total of 1160 points places him firmly at the top of the standings after the worst score drop.

Jaxon Stewart (Race No. 88) followed closely behind, combining two heat victories with solid results to achieve 1092 points, keeping the pressure on throughout the day.

In third place, Jack Roberts (Race No. 8) delivered consistent mid pack finishes, earning 1012 points and demonstrating steady progression across the heats.

Millie Rose Bowman (Race No. 37) rounded out the table with an impressive run of identical heat results, showcasing reliability and control to finish with 972 points.

Stewartby Powerboat Racing is pleased to release the proposed timetable for the 2026 British Masters Championship, taking place on 1st–2nd August at Stewartby Powerboat & Hydroplane Racing Club.

This schedule outlines the planned structure for the weekend, ensuring smooth running for all classes, teams, officials, and spectators.
