It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the incredibly sad news of the passing of Jackson Scott, aged just 16.

Jackson was a much-loved member of our rugby family. Like so many young players who have come through our club, he was part of something much bigger than rugby, he was part of the Two Blues family.

Sixteen years is far too short a life, and it is difficult to find the words to express the sadness felt by everyone who knew Jackson, his teammates, friends, coaches and everyone at the club.

The memories made on the rugby field and the friendships forged along the way will remain with those who knew him. Once a Two Blue, always a Two Blue.

Our deepest thoughts and condolences are with Jackson’s family and friends at this unimaginably difficult time.

Christmas in August? Hear us out…

We know it’s August. The sun is shining, people are still in holiday mode, and the last thing on most people’s minds is probably Christmas.

We’ve got two Christmas party nights coming up at Bishop Auckland Rugby Club — Saturday 12th December and Saturday 19th December and both are set to be great nights.

And yes, we know December feels like a long way off. But we also know how quickly it sneaks up on you.

We're doing it all again on Saturday 19th December, but this time JD & the Woodsman will be putting on a performance, with another hot buffet and a disco to dance the night away.

For both dates doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start and tickets are £25pp.

Our Colts will kick off the season in style with a home game in the 2026-27 season in the Surridge Impact Colts League.

For 50 years, Bishop Auckland Rugby Union Football Club has been at the heart of our community. Since 1976, generations have pulled on the famous Two Blues jersey, representing the club with pride, passion and commitment.

The trophies and victories will always be remembered, but the true success of BARUFC has never been measured by silverware alone. It’s measured by the friendships made, the volunteers who have given their time, the coaches who have inspired young players, the families who have stood on the sidelines through every season, and the lifelong memories created along the way.

This anniversary is a celebration of everyone who has played a part in our story—past and present. Every player, coach, referee, parent, supporter and volunteer has helped build the club we are so proud to call home.

Fifty years on, our values remain unchanged: respect, teamwork, courage and community.

Here’s to everyone who has worn the badge, cheered from the touchline, or simply called Bishop Auckland RUFC their club.
