Some phenomenal skills on show this week it’s been a joy to take a little step back at a couple of sessions and watch the quality that we have on show 🤩😮‍💨

Imagine it being the first Saturday of the summer holidays and still having 50 children turning up to play football 😮‍💨😮‍💨⚽️💙

Pre school - Harrison - for being competitive and never giving up and always getting on the ball in the matches

Reception - Henry - always doing the right thing, and scoring himself 2 goals in the matches

Reception girls - Gracie - for always dribbling past players and into space to score goals

Year 2/3 girls - Georgia - for getting stuck in right from the start in the matches

Well today is a sad but equally exciting day at Project Football.

Today we said goodbye to our year 1 group who have spent the last 20 months coming together as the most amazing little group. What started as a bunch of strangers has become an amazing group of friends (both children and parents), who will hopefully continue for years to come.

The exciting part is that the journey is only just beginning as we send 16 children up into Rishton United to become 2 new squads ahead of the new season!

The biggest thank you goes to all the parents who have been a part of our group, especially those who have been there since day 1 of Project Football, for trusting myself and Dec with the start of your child’s football journey!

And a final thankyou for the lovely gifts that the children brought to the sessions this morning.

I look forward to hopefully seeing you in action next season whenever I get chance to get down ⚽️💙⚽️💙⚽️💙

This evening our Thursday 3v3 group had a change of venue as we headed over to Darwen FC to play in multiple mini matches!

As always our group did us proud never giving up playing against boys a little bigger than them 👊👊

Another group I am loving watching develop every week!

This weeks player of the week went to Harry for scoring goals for fun and always being exciting on the ball ⚽️⚽️⚽️💙💙💙

Yesterday’s session was another good one, and well attended despite it being the first week of the summer holidays. The boys and girls have come on leaps and bounds in the 4 months we have now been running 😎😎

A massive well done to Max, this weeks star player for lots of good work with his ball mastery ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Wednesday - slight time change of session to get home for England in the baking sun, but still had 12 children enjoying their football with us at Stanley Sports Hub

Thursday 2-3 years - seemed an even hotter evening! But our young 2-3 years smashed it, even finishing with a game of runaway robot all together to finish!

Thursday 3v3 - slight change of format, mini games, king of the ring, tig games and a penalty shootout to finish!

Saturday - BUSY BUSY
Pre school - group is growing and improving each week!

Reception - as booming as ever with over 20 children in attendance

Girls - couple of new additions to the session settling in well and having fun

NEW Girls year 2 and 3 - the first session bringing 8 new girls together for the first time - and what a dream it was. Amazing listening, work rate and some lovely skills!

Year 1 - Coming towards the end 😔 10 boys this morning absolutely flying about the pitch showing skills left right and centre - ohh how they have grown up!! 1 more week until they spread their wings and become Rishton United! 💙⚽️💙
