A thrilling weekend of cricket all round. Well done all; some hard fought wins and some unlucky losses🏏💪

🔴 Nick Nineham (1st XI)
Winton lost the toss, and were put into bowl. An incredible opening spell from Aksh*t Jha (3-14) had Verwood on the back foot from the start, and they were eventually bowled out for 119. Dan Best (3-15) , Nicholas Nineham (3-18) and Eliot Trapnell (1-18) sharing the rest of the wickets.
Winton chased the total down relatively easily, but lost a few too many wickets for full points. Harry Seal set strong foundations with 32, and the match was quickly finished by Jo May with a quick 25!

⚫️ Duran Clayton (2nd XI)
Winton CC 2nd XI vs Fawley 2nd XI was a closely contested match. Fawley won the toss and elected to bat first. They were a stubborn team to dismiss and we took some time getting wickets. Uday finally made the break through with an impressive 5/13 off of his 9 overs. We then went in chasing 156, but our batters struggled. We managed to win by 2 wickets. Man of the Match: Uday✨

🔴 Mahesh Nagamallareddy (3rd XI)
What a game we had. Another star ⭐-Bhasker we discovered today with amazing courage in battling, we all enjoyed watching him scoring 💯👍👏. Supported greatly by Riju and Shahin to get unbelievably total of 236.
Superb bowling from Oscar, Shahin, Prithvi, Mo and Riju to win the nail biting game by 2 RUNS.
Winning against strong opposition was special feeling for whole team. Winning movement and whole celebrations was amazing feeling for everyone of us

⚫️ Will Lochhead (5th/Dev XI)
The Development Team played Bournemouth 6th XI on Saturday with a team comprising 7 U15s (or younger). Losing the toss, the team were put into bat. Despite scoring at a good rate, with Jose Josento scoring another half century, the team were hampered by losing wickets too frequently, in particular a spell where we lost 4 quick wickets in the middle order, this meant we underscored a bit being all out for 190 with 7 overs remaining.
The team though put up a great performance in the field, getting four early wickets with Josh Case the pick of the bowlers with two wickets. The team kept it tight in the field and tried everything to get another wicket, but the fantastic partnership from Bournemouth meant that they managed to get to the target with two balls to spare meaning the team lost another nail biter.
The team gave it their all and while disappointed not to edged the game, can be proud of their efforts, particularly against an experienced Bournemouth team on the day.

Some amazing cricket this weekend with some superb standout performances🏏

🔴 Duran Clayton (2nd XI)
We lost the toss and we were sent in to bowl first. A good pitch for batting, not much in it for the bowlers. Somehow we managed to bowl them all out on the last ball of the innings to secure maximum bowling points. Pick of the bowlers was Deepak with 3/39 and Chaminda 2/40. We had a decent total to chase down of 219 which we chased down in just 25 overs. A great first appearance for us by Habib who scored 110* with Isuru a handy 45* chasing the score down for us. A big win for 2s by 7 wickets.

⚫️ Mahesh Nagamallareddy (3rd XI)
Good win from 3s with all around performance.
Won toss and batted first, scored 235/10 in 40 overs. Jamie Watts 53, Matt Ryan 53, Riju 32, Prithvi 28.
Bowled really well with great control on line length from everyone. Ben Watts- 3 wickets, Shanu 3 wickets and Oscar-2 wickets

🔴 Adam Worsdale (4th XI)
With only 10 players and a scratch team it was always going to be a challenge. Losing the toss and fielding first was also not great.
The bowling started well, with the Shaker and Bashkar taking 3 wickets and keeping the run rate down to three an over in their opening spell. We then faced a couple of in form bats who counter attacked and plunder runs. Although we eventually got them out the damage was done with over 270 runs scored.
After a hard afternoon in the field batting wise we seemed a bit unfocused with the run chase never really getting off the ground......
On the plus side, Abbotsbury is one of the most beautiful grounds in England and a lovely place to spend a day playing cricket. So if you ignore the result it was a successful day......

⚫️ Will Lochhead (5th/Dev XI)
The Development Team played Mudeford 3rd XI on a warm day at Winton Rec. The team welcomed another junior debutant with Naman Khamari playing his first adult game and the team had another 7 u15 (or younger) playing.

Losing the toss (again!), the team fielded first on a very good batting surface and it proved to be with Mudeford scoring an excellent 288-2, with their opener scoring a superb 104 not out. The young team though kept at it throughout with some superb bowling from our 12-year old Kathy Jose and Naman getting his first wicket in adult cricket.

In response, we started well, with a strong 96 run partnership between Jose Josento and Will Lochhead meant that the team were broadly keeping up with the run rate required. Jose scored another half-century, however, the loss of three wickets in quick succession slowed the run rate and despite some excellent rear-guard counter attacking from Jacob Lochhead, Alex Leach and Naman Khamari, the total proved too tough to get, with the team all out for 214.

An excellent performance again though from such a young and inexperienced team and plenty of positives to take from the day!
