Primera Sports rider Paul Jones on route to taking 2nd place in the VTTA [time trail] champs. On board his Scott Plasma aero bike, Paul clocked an average speed of 27 miles per hour for the 100 miles clocking 3hrs - 50 minutes. A few challenges on the day like boiling heat, and lots of potholes on the course keeping riders dialled in full concentration for the 100 miles. It’s incredible when you get to 27mph on your bike and then think these guys keep that up for 100 miles. If you are new to cycling, time trial racing is when riders start at one minute intervals. No drafting off other riders, it’s all about you against the clock. Making yourself aero and pacing yourself for the full distance takes a lot of training. Paul has been riding for many years and is still getting faster each year, first year on the Scott Plasma and loving it....
