Trying something new with 2 of the horses… 🐴🌿✨

I’m currently trialling Hempine C*D with two of my horses who can struggle with tension and reactivity at times 🤍

I’m also really interested to see how we get on with one of my youngsters as she starts heading out to her first arena hires 🐎✨ New places and new experiences can be a lot for a young horse, so I’m curious to see whether I notice any difference.

Hempine is a family-run company based in Oxfordshire 🌿 It came recommended by a friend, and after hearing lots of positive experiences from other horse and dog owners, I thought I’d give it a try with mine too! 🐴🐶💚

C*D works alongside the body’s endocannabinoid system, and people use it to support their animals with a variety of things, including:

🌿 Stress & anxiety
🐴 Tension & reactivity
🦴 Arthritis & stiffness
🤍 General discomfort & inflammation
🌱 Overall wellbeing

I’ve also heard from owners who use C*D alongside the management of horses with conditions such as PSSM, Cushing’s and EMS.

Obviously every horse is different, and it’s not a replacement for veterinary treatment where that’s needed. I’m going into it with an open mind 🤞🏼 and I’m really interested to see whether I notice any difference with mine.

We are looking for a quality event horse on a long-term affordable lease/loan or a horse for my 16-year-old son to have the ride on. He has recently been riding a big event horse but he is now looking to make the move onto somthing his own and establish himself in the eventing world. With the aim of progressing through grassroots eventing, with the potential to move higher with the right horse.

He is an ambitious, competitive and incredibly dedicated rider, who rides in a sympathetic, soft and correct way. He has learnt to be articulate with his riding, allowing him to be successful with his schooling, as he is always analysing how and what to improve. Most of all wants to build a genuine partnership with the right horse.

🏡 The home we can offer

A 5⭐️ home is offered on a well-established competition yard just outside Bristol, with excellent facilities and heaps of experience. With brilliant training and competition opportunities.

The horse would be very much part of the family, with a huge amount of care and attention given to their welfare. We have a fantastic support network around us. references can be provided.

🐴 What we are looking for:

• Around 16hh–17hh
• Kind mare ideally, although a gelding would absolutely be considered for the right horse
• Excellent temperament is a must – kind, sensible and easy to do in all ways on the ground
• Straightforward, uncomplicated ride
• Bold and confident to a fence
• Genuine and willing attitude
• Ideally with established eventing experience and the ability to progress at grassroots level
• Must be able to turn out in a herd – this is a non-negotiable due to our yard logistics

📍 Based just outside Bristol, but happy to travel for the right horse.

I’m really lucky to use some of the best bits of kit supplied by Premier Equine International Ltd and the quality and comfort they provide for my horses is second to none. 🐴✨

The boots have a lovely snug and comfortable fit while still allowing plenty of mobility and helping to maintain good circulation through the legs. With such a wide range of boots available, I can choose the right protection and support for the different phases of training and competition.

The bridles are another favourite of mine. They’re made from beautifully soft leather and have a lovely fit, allowing them to mould comfortably to each horse’s individual head shape.

I also use the anti-slip and shim half pads alongside the saddle pads. They’re brilliant for helping create a comfortable, secure fit under the saddle, while the saddle pads do a great job of managing sweat and keeping the horses comfortable throughout their work.

For me, it’s all about having kit that combines quality, comfort and practicality while allowing the horses to perform at their best — and Premier Equine ticks all of those boxes. 🤍💙❤️

A little update ❤️

Unfortunately, I had a fall from a client’s horse earlier today and have suffered a fairly bad concussion, along with a possible fractured rib.

There isn’t really anything that can be done for the rib other than rest, so I’ve been advised to take Monday and Tuesday off to give my body — and, importantly, my head — a chance to start recovering.

This means that all lessons booked for Monday and Tuesday will unfortunately need to be cancelled. I’ll be in contact with everyone affected tomorrow to rearrange your lessons.

I’m very sorry for any inconvenience and really appreciate your understanding while I take a couple of days to recover properly.
