🧡🏏 Tomorrow – The Bob Hesford Memorial Day 🏏🧡

Join us tomorrow at the WG Grace Memorial Ground as Downend CC take on Golden Hill CC in memory of Bob Hesford and in support of bowel cancer awareness.

As a tribute to Bob, Downend players will be wearing orange caps throughout the day, and we’d love everyone attending to join us by wearing something tangerine or orange.

Let’s come together to celebrate Bob’s life, support a great cause, and enjoy a fantastic day of cricket.

A fantastic week across the club, with 4 wins from 5 men's fixtures and a clean sweep for the women with 2 wins from 2.

✅ 1st XI victory
❌ 2nd XI fall just short
🎉 3rd XI secure their first win of the season
🎉 4th XI secure their first win of the season
⚡ T20 side complete the men's successes

💙 Ladies 1st XI celebrate their first win of the season in just their second 11-a-side fixture
💙 Ladies 8-a-side side also record a victory

With first wins for the 3rd XI, 4th XI and Ladies 1st XI, it was a week full of milestones and momentum across the club.

50 for Lacock 🏏

Lynsey became the second ever player to score a half-century for Downend Women, producing a fantastic 51 from just 43 balls against Bristol 🔥

Her innings guided the team home in style as the ladies secured an impressive 7-wicket victory 👏

Six wickets for Rehan Shahid 🎯🏏

Rehan was the standout performer with the ball against Frenchay 5ths, producing a superb spell to finish with outstanding figures of 6-22 🔥

The 4ths backed up the bowling display with a composed chase, securing a convincing 6-wicket victory 💪

A brilliant all-round team performance, led by a match-winning spell from Rehan 🌟

Another century for Blake Sculthorpe 💯🏏

Blake continued his outstanding season with a superb 103 against BWIP, bringing up his second hundred of the campaign in style 🔥

Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to secure the win as BWIP chased down the target to win by 6 wickets, but another brilliant individual performance from Blake deserves huge recognition 💪
