🏃‍♀️🔥 BACK YARD RUN! 🔥🏃‍♂️

8 NOVEMBER | ARE YOU READY FOR THE CHALLENGE? 👀

Think you’ve got what it takes to go the distance? Come and join us for a fun, family-friendly endurance challenge where the goal is simple…

Keep going for as long as you can!

THE CHALLENGE:
Every 30 minutes, participants set off on a 2.5km route. Walk, jog or run — it’s completely up to you!

Complete the route within the time allowed, recover, and get ready to go again…

🔥 BUT HERE’S THE TWIST!

After 3 hours, things start to get tougher! Every 30 minutes, the time allowed to complete the 2.5km route is reduced by 3 minutes.

The challenge continues until only one participant or team remains!

- Bring the family
- Challenge your friends
- Walk, jog or run
- Push yourself
- Enjoy the outdoors
- See how long you can last!

How many rounds will you manage?

Thanks team! We love the bridge improvements and appreciate all the trimming and tree and roots sorting the rangers and volunteers do.

A MASSIVE thank you to the fantastic volunteer group who recently spent their day helping us paint our new bridge! 👏💚

The fresh coat of paint not only gives our new bridge a lovely finish, but will also help protect it from the weather and keep it looking great for years to come.

We really appreciate the time, hard work and enthusiasm they brought to the Park.

Thank you for helping us keep Milton Country Park looking its best!

Thank you to everyone who joined us today. Shout out to Terry Fawden who we believe is the first person to have run the new route in under 16 minuets! Mentions also to Ataiah and Laura, both in the junior 11-14 age category, and who completed the course in 22:25 and 22:26 respectively. Well done to everyone else also. Starting your Saturday with a 5k is always worthy of a pat on the back! Hope to see you all next week....along with the two tokens that wandered off this week.

Well done to the 367 of you who completed Milton Country parkrun this morning and thank you to the 27 volunteers who made it possible!

Thank you also to everyone for listening so well to the run briefing this morning. We know it can be tempting to chat to friends during it but it's really important we all listen, even if you run the course each week. A few key reminders for Milton Country parkrun.
- Please run on the left, to allow faster runners to pass on the right. Including on the first loop, where everyone is settling in to position.
- Please try and seed yourself at the start. We are now regularly busy again, which is great! However, it does mean that for the first kilometer the course there are lots of you on a narrow path. Having people moving at a similar pace is much safer for everyone.
- If you run with headphones, please ensure you can still hear others around you. People will often call to let everyone know when the super speedy people at the front are coming. This isn't done with the intention of intimidating anyone, its done to try and keep everyone safe. Like wise, those with buggies, will often call out when passing, again with the intention of keeping everyone safe.
- After your run, please walk back on the righthand side of the path. This allows those who are still running to have a clear route through to the finish.
- And finally, keep having fun and feel free to join us for a coffee after your run in the Grounds Café or Phoenix Trust Milton monthly pop up cafe!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and see you next week! Julia (your dyslexic run reporter)

I'm a very happy Volunteer Coordinator and cake lover. Not only do we have a full set* of help for Saturday, it's also a pop up phoenix cafe day aswell as grounds cafe!
*When I say full set we have space for some help to clear up after the run. Come and see me (Jen VC) or Mike (our Run Director) and we can tell you what we need and give you a volunteer credit for it!

We are really looking forward to Park Run on Saturday. Thank you for making last time such a success we will have the same format again but hopefully you will see the big changes to the new building !!!

Happy back to school! Can you help us put some people in our finish funnel?
This weeks VC Mike is very happy (we think) to be back teaching, but we can make him even happier by helping him fill the roster for Saturday. We're in need of a marshal and a few more people to help at the finish with giving out tokens and scanning.
If you want to run and volunteer you can help scan (if you're speedy) or sorting tokens too!
Current roster is here https://www.parkrun.org.uk/miltoncountry/futureroster/

Thanks to all our volunteers, runners and walkers today. It was a lovely Dolly parkrun, with two volunteer milestones on the funnel. Geoff Meads on his 100th and Tim Davies on his 50th.

Here you come again for another week of Parkrunning! A coat of many colours is not required but we are looking for some people to be working 9-5 (or 8:40-10ish) at MCp on Saturday and I will always love you.

Jolene is welcome, but please don’t take my tokens away.

Forecast for Sat is a bit cooler, but we’re hoping not baby it’s cold outside.

No marshals are required for our islands in the stream but we may need someone to walk the (finish funnel) line like they’re king of the road, possibly with Joshua.

Actually our volunteers are fabulous so we don’t need many more, just another marshal or 2, a funnel manager and some more help to sort tokens. The volunteer roster page can be checked at {{rosterLink}

RIP Dolly. We'll be letting you borrow special pink high Viz to wear in her memory. Sequins and cowboys hats not mandatory but encouraged.
