🦢 LOOK WHO’S ALL GROWN UP! 🦢

Our lovely cygnets are looking less like fluffy little babies and more like young swans!

Both pairs of swans have done a brilliant job raising their young this year. We started the summer with 7 cygnets on Todd’s Pit and 4 cygnets on Dickerson’s Pit — and we’re delighted to say that all 11 are still with us!

As we head into October, some of our cygnets may soon be preparing to leave home. Young swans typically start to become more independent and disperse between October and February, so over the coming months we may begin to see fewer of these familiar faces around the Park.

For now, though, we’re enjoying watching them grow, explore and become more confident on the water.

🔥 PARK SAFETY NOTICE 🔥
We are extremely upset and disappointed to have discovered a large area of burnt ground in the park, caused by a fire.

It is incredibly disappointing to see people putting themselves, our park, its visitors and our neighbours at unnecessary risk by not following our rules.

Our rules are not there to make things difficult. They are there to keep everyone safe and to protect the environment we all enjoy.

🔥 Fires must only be made in permitted areas and strictly in accordance with the park rules.

Please be aware that anyone found having a large fire in wooded areas or lighting fires directly on the ground will be reported to the police.

Our main priority is to keep everyone safe, but we also need our visitors to play their part. Please respect the rules, consider the potential consequences of your actions and help us protect this wonderful space for everyone to enjoy.

Thank you for your understanding, cooperation and continued support.

8 NOVEMBER | ARE YOU READY FOR THE CHALLENGE? 👀

Think you’ve got what it takes to go the distance? Come and join us for a fun, family-friendly endurance challenge where the goal is simple…

Keep going for as long as you can!

THE CHALLENGE:
Every 30 minutes, participants set off on a 2.5km route. Walk, jog or run — it’s completely up to you!

Complete the route within the time allowed, recover, and get ready to go again…

🔥 BUT HERE’S THE TWIST!

After 3 hours, things start to get tougher! Every 30 minutes, the time allowed to complete the 2.5km route is reduced by 3 minutes.

The challenge continues until only one participant or team remains!

- Bring the family
- Challenge your friends
- Walk, jog or run
- Push yourself
- Enjoy the outdoors
- See how long you can last!

We’re on the hunt for some more books to add to our Wild Place reading collection! 🦉🐛🌳

If you’re having a clear-out and have any nature, wildlife, outdoor adventure or countryside-themed books for children that you no longer need, we’d love to give them a new home.

Help us encourage little explorers to read, learn and discover more about the natural world!

📍Drop-offs welcome at Milton Country Park Office (located to the right of the cafe) between 9am and 4pm Monday to Sunday

A MASSIVE thank you to the fantastic volunteer group who recently spent their day helping us paint our new bridge! 👏💚

The fresh coat of paint not only gives our new bridge a lovely finish, but will also help protect it from the weather and keep it looking great for years to come.

We really appreciate the time, hard work and enthusiasm they brought to the Park.

🎃👻 SPOOKY CRAFTS, MAGICAL FUN & HALLOWEEN ADVENTURES! 👻🎃

Looking for some Halloween fun for your little ones? Come along to the Wild Place at Milton Country Park for a morning of spooky creativity, games and outdoor adventure! 🍂🕷️

🎨 For just £4, children can enjoy:
🧙‍♀️ 5 Halloween-themed crafts to make and take home
🎣 Magnetic fishing
🌳 Plenty of space to play, explore and enjoy the Wild Place
👻 Suitable for children aged 7 and under

There’s no need to pre-book — simply turn up on the day, pay at the entrance and let the Halloween fun begin! 🎃

⚠️ Please note: Craft materials are limited and once they’re gone, we won’t have any more available. To make sure everyone can enjoy the session safely, we’ll also be limiting the number of people allowed into the craft area at any one time.
