A reminder that past Club Captain Tom Lally’s funeral is this Friday at 3.30pm, taking place at Cannock crematorium, followed by a celebration of life at the club.
Tom’s family have requested that all attending wear club colours if they have them. If not, please be as colourful as you can. Tom would also appreciate cowboy boots!
Tom’s family have also asked that In lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Giles Hospice, and there will be collection points on the bar at the club.
We know there’s many people who want to be there to say a fond farewell to Tom, so we ask that if you are able to stand for the duration of the service, please allow those that need the seats in first.
It would be helpful to have an idea of how many are planning on attending. If you are, please let us know by liking this post.
Let’s raise a glass to Tom, and celebrate his life as he wanted 💙💛

HERE TO STAY 💛💙
We’re pleased to announce both our captains from last season are here for another year.
Leading our first XV is Craig Richards, otherwise known as Lump. A long time club servant, there is no one more suited to leading our team towards a successful campaign
Our second XV captain is Donk Jukes, heading into his third season as second team captain. After a league winning debut season, Donk will be hoping to replicate that this season.
Both captains have the support of everyone at the club and wish them well this season!

Everyone at Cannock rugby club is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of club legend Tom Lally. Tom was an outstanding player whose contributions to the club continued off the pitch through volunteering and supporting all those at the club who needed it.
Everyone at the club is invited down to remember Tom at his funeral service on the 7th August at 3:30pm at Cannock crematorium. Those who have club blazers have been respectfully asked to wear it on the day, otherwise club tie is requested.
All our love and sincerest condolences go to his family at such a difficult time.

🏉 Touch series round up 🏉
Last Friday, we rounded off our summer touch series with one final trophy of the summer as we won the tournament hosted by Stafford. Many thanks to Stafford for hosting and their professional refereeing team who allowed for a fantastic tournament.
We progressed into the final after 4 wins in the group stages against St Leonards, Derby, Rugeley and Essington, all of which gave us competitive matches and a friendly atmosphere. In the final match, we faced a strong Lichfield side who were undefeated that evening. Despite this, our quick attack was to much and we claimed our fifth victory of the evening. This took our trophy count to 3 this summer, concluding another impressive series for Cannock.
Thanks to all clubs who hosted and took part to create such a competitive series of touch rugby!

What a day Saturday was 💙🏉
A massive thank you to everyone who came down and supported our memorial game. The turnout, support, and atmosphere meant a huge amount to everyone involved, and it was brilliant to see so many people there remembering and celebrating together.
A special thank you as well to our VPs for putting on the BBQ for everyone — it was hugely appreciated and helped make the day even more special.
Days like this show what rugby clubs and communities are all about. Thank you all again for your support 💙
Rugby is always the winner in the end
