Alas, another season over and another one saying “what if” throughout. Despite this, there are plenty of positives to take away from the season!
1. The wins we did have, were unbelievable! Full team performances and shows that when we have heart and our best team out, we are tough to beat.
2. We’ve been continuing to build our player base, at least 21 new people took the field this year which is great. We are on the road to building a big squad which will allow us to compete in the future!
3. We scored some great tries this year, 45 ish to be slightly exact! Whether it was through brute force or some slick hands through the backs!
4. Where we did perform, we ran teams close! The highlight against 3rd place Cefn Coed away from home, where we were just pipped at the end!
5. As well as the tries, we tallied up a total of 288 points! Thanks to Ieu off the tee!
6. It’s been great to welcome a few faces back from injury this year. And with a few also returning from serious injuries last year we are looking great!
7. Despite some tough days in the jersey, we turned up every week, and the boys continue to work hard behind the scenes.
8. The bus trips, the organised socials, the great laughs. All been excellent. Thanks to the social committee for all their hard work this year! We still have a Newcastle tour lined up, and a club dinner to attend!
All in all, we are already well prepared for next year! A special thanks to
- the committee for all the behind the scenes work they do.
- the coaches, Holv, Martin, Deri and Dan, for the tireless energy they put into training sessions and turning up on match days.
- All the supporters, who continue to back us each and every week.
So long to this season, and let’s get ready for the next one. UP THE SARRIES ❤️🖤

❤️🖤 MOTM ❤️🖤
A strong performance from the young prop, scrum performance was a highlight of the game, and never stopped working in attack and defence for the full 80. James gets your MOTM!
Special mentions for Rob Jones, who was ferocious throughout, and Tommy Rowe off the bench who made a huge impact with a try and a run which led to a try (Pity he didn’t have the gas to finish it!)

❤️🖤 LOSS ❤️🖤
What a beautiful day for it! But didn’t quite get over the line after a late fightback.
First half was fairly even throughout, however we struggled to capitalise early on with some resolute Caerau defence on show, but sustained pressure got us over the line. The response from Caerau was strong, and despite some good defence, they managed to get over the whitewash a couple of times. 21-7 HT
Second half we struggled to keep our discipline, which cost us territory all game which Caerau capitalised on. Worked hard on a late fight back, which put us within 10 points, however it was too little too late and Caerau finished the job.
All in all a good performance against a team who were pushing for the promotion spots.
Last one of the year against a tough Brecon outfit, let’s go!

❤️🖤 SQUAD ❤️🖤
In our penultimate game of the season, we are ready to go against a tough Caerau Ely side in a mini cardiff derby! Was a great battle last time around, let’s hope for the same on our own pitch for the first time in a while!
In a largely unchanged team from last week, other than injuries and people missing:
💪 Rhys Morgan moving into the forwards
💯 Henry Starting at 10
🎉 Ben & Hayden making it into the starting 15
Stacked bench, and lots of boys unlucky to miss out with 25 available this week (If only this was every week 👀😂)
But who cares about the game right? Biggest social of the year will be commencing straight afterwards! Peaky Blinder themed so bring your dai caps and razor blades, and plenty of cash to spend!

❤️🖤 MOTM ❤️🖤
Full of massive hits and effective carrying throughout, he didn’t take a backwards step all game, and Alex is a deserved MOTM this week. We do have to get you a new player photo!!!
Special mention to Tommy Rowe , who was a monster in attack and defence throughout.

❤️🖤 LOSS ❤️🖤
Not quite to be, but a solid performance from the boys that we can be proud of against league chasers Cefn Coed, who’ve only lost once outside of the top 2.
First half we started off strongly, making some dominant hits and getting some good success in the set piece. We spent a fair amount of time in their half and managed to capitalise well with Soly on his first game back taking the plaudits in the corner. 0-7 HT.
Second half we started to come under a lot of pressure from the home side, and as we started to tire in defence the gaps slowly started to open up. However we did get some possession and capitalised well, including a great try from Rowey and some good sustained pressure to bring the score to 14-17. We could only sustain the defence on our line for so long, and they managed to find their way over the line, to which we couldn’t get enough territory to seal the deal. FT 21-17.
The heart was there for the full 80 minutes yesterday, and showed that we can compete at this level with the right attitude. We were quite disappointed in a few calls by the referee, including a yellow card for Rob for being punched in the head, and a 5m scrum from a ball being touched down over the line. However Cefn Coed still needed to capitalise on these calls, and showed their resilience to claw their way to a win, showing why they have been difficult to beat.
Two more games to go, two more chances for us to build for next season ❤️🖤.

Great to have a strong squad to select from this week!
Ethan, Rob and Tommy making their way back into the back row partnership. Great to have Alex and Soly back to help out in the backs as well!
LETS GO!
