Youâre asking the wrong question.
Before you ask âWhat tape should I use?â, ask âWhat am I trying to achieve?â
The goal comes first. Support, movement, protection, feedback and confidence all need a different approach.
Thatâs why SPORTTAPE makes different types of sports tape for different treatment aims. The right product helps the application do its job properly.
A good sports tape application starts with the basics. Skin prep, body positioning, tape tension and rounded corners all play a part in how well the tape performs.
Brilliant tape can still struggle if the skin isnât clean and dry. A strong application can still be let down by poor-quality tape that frays, lifts or loses shape too quickly.
SPORTTAPE has spent over 12 years working directly with specialist, accredited factories to develop sports tape that feels good to use, stays consistent and supports practitioners when it counts.
Tape still isnât magic.
Sports tape will not fix an injury on its own. It will not replace rehab, treatment or clinical reasoning.
Used properly, tape can help support movement, provide feedback and give athletes more confidence during training, matchday or return to play.
Small details make a big difference.
Round the corners to help reduce peeling. Apply to clean, dry skin. Avoid moisturiser, oils and residue before taping. If the area is very hairy, shave at least 12 hours before application or give it a careful trim.
Good taping comes down to the right product, the right prep and the right education.
SPORTTAPE works with physios, therapists and clinicians to keep pushing taping education forward, from product development to online taping courses.
