A leading British Sailing School and RYA Training Centre based at Chatham Maritime Marina, Kent - only 45 minutes from Central London. We provide a complete yachting (sail or motor) service - from a first sailing weekend, through RYA training courses for competent crew or helmsman, day skipper, coastal skipper and yachtmaster to offshore adventure and yacht charter. Classroom courses in navigation, seamanship, radio, radar, diesel engine maintenance, sea survival and first aid are held at Chatham. RYA navigation course support is also available in Central London and online. Adventure Sailing includes complete Round Britain circumnavigations with trips all over NW European waters. We have a great team of experienced instructors who are passionate about the sea and boating. RYA Recognised and a Member of the British Marine Federation. Established for over 20 years, Elite Sailing is a professional, safe, friendly school that you can depend on for all your training support and advice.

Today marks the official start of astronomical autumn, the moment when day and night are almost in perfect balance across the globe.

Overheard on Tonic… “I like b**r” 🍻 👂 🙊

One of the awesome things about sailing around Britain is the incredible places you get to visit along the way. This is our adventure crew onboard Tonic entering Whitby at the weekend. 🧡

They’d been at sea on quite a long passage, and from the sound of it the crew are dreaming of getting onto land and sampling some of the fine ales that Whitby has to offer! 🍺 🧡

We are incredibly proud to share that our Chief Instructor, Steve (Hodge) has officially been awarded an RYA Impact Award! ⛵️🏆

This recognition from the is a testament to what everyone who has ever stepped aboard with Hodge already knows: his dedication, passion, and teaching talent are second to none.

Hodge was presented his award last night, as we brought together some of our wonderful partners who support Elite behind the scenes, for a night of celebration and to say thank you to all for making Elite the amazing sailing school and adventure sailing centre that it is… , Willinsons Sails, Trimnet and PSI Marine.

⚡️ Marine Electronics Course ⚡️

Our pilot marine electronics course took place last weekend, a fun and informative day, the students came away with confidence and knowledge.

Students learned the basics of marine electronics, including how boats are wired, common faults and how to find them and fix them, as well as how to use a multi meter and how to stay safe.

* Springing off a pontoon - Boat Handling 101 - Mini Tutorial * ⛵️

In this short tutorial we share the basics of how to ‘spring’ a boat off of a pontoon in tidal waters.

- no last minute jumping aboard whilst pushing the boat away!
- no dragging the boat along the pontoon
- and no shouting!

If you learn to handle a boat properly, manoeuvring is demystified and becomes straightforward, logical and calm.
