🚑 We're Recruiting First Aiders! 🚑

As our club continues to grow, we're looking for more volunteer first aiders to support all of our rugby teams this season.

If you're interested in getting involved, we'd love to hear from you!

No previous experience is necessary – we'll provide full support, including recognised first aid training and ongoing development opportunities to help you build your skills and confidence.

With more players than ever taking to the field this season, we need your help to support our continued growth. Whether you're:

A parent looking to get involved
A former player wanting to stay connected to the game
Someone who wants to volunteer their time and make a difference
Interested in supporting your own child's team

There's a role for you.

The more volunteers we have, the better we can support our players, coaches and growing rugby family.

If you'd like to play an important role in keeping our players safe while being part of a fantastic club, get in touch today – we'd love to welcome you to the team!

Volunteers’ day is an extremely important day/event in the clubs calendar. It’s a day when we look to get the club ready for the season ahead - with jobs like cleaning, painting, litter picking and some grounds maintenance work. As the club is run exclusively by volunteers and we are not in a position to pay to get some of this work sorted - we need our members to support.

In the last couple of years attendance has not been great with very low numbers of members turning up, so I would kindly ask if we can all find some time to do a couple of hours at the club which if we have good attendance will be a hugely productive day!
You can choose which time to attend, for a few hours and with lots of members helping, it will make a huge impact on improving our club - Many hands make lighter work!

We will provide some food and drinks throughout the day.

What do we want to achieve? In no particular order or priority?

EXTERNAL WORK
• The Biggy - Strimming and trimming the banks - This is a big job as we have a number of banks on the supporters side of the club that need trimming - this will need quite a few people - 6 Plus - to do the task and we have put an equipment list below so if you have a petrol strimmer / hedge trimmer / brush cutter please bring them with you as they will be needed - we will supply petrol mix on the day - 50:1 that you can use. There will be a lot of spoil that will need to be cleared in wheelbarrows up to the top car park area.
• Main Pitch - patch repairs in areas - centre spot + others - selective w**d killing - top soil and seeding required. You may see George our robot mower out and about 😉
• Pitch 3 (the very top pitch) - is settling in but needs a stone pick and general tidy up of the area - to remove as many stones as possible. We can then lay new clean topsoil at later date.
• Gutters around the club house need clearing out - removing moss etc and facias painted black.
• Areas around the club house/marquee and gym - including the rear of the club boundary with Grundon general tidy up with the removal of waste, w**ding and a sweep.
• Top Car parking area (Next to 2nd pitch) - generally tidy/clearing up of w**ds and rubbish.
• Paint and erect the rugby post for pitch two - we need someone who can do a bit repair on the uprights - ideally onsite welding? They can be set into ground digging holes and post Crete.
• General litter pick - across all areas - roadside/main and back entrances - banks etc.
• Grundon hedgerow - to be trimmed back and cleared and around the sign entrance boards including kerbside edges.
• Main pitch kerbside edging and club house pitch facing walls - to be scraped back and cleared of w**ds and debris.
• Benches - all outside seating benches to painted black - Capriol Duck black.
• Front entrance fencing and rails - Painted black - Capriol Duck black.
• Cleaning - Post protectors - scoreboard and field shelters to be washed down and cleaned - we will look to put up new panels to replace the damaged ones on the shelters.
• Pitchside shelters - Measuring up for new more robust panels to replace brittle plastic - possibly aluminium?
• Clean and tidy Marquee area
• Gym area – cleaned tidied, rubbish removed and inside tidied. Painting may need required as well.

INTERNAL WORK
• Cleaning - Deep clean for kitchen.
Changing rooms/refs room and toilets. Including shower and shower heads.
Bar area/clubhouse - including glasses and shelves behind the bar.
Cellar needs cleaned
• Painting - Storage lockers black.
Walls & Skirtings - Gloss and emulsion - entrances - hall ways - changing rooms, Shower floors, Cellar Ceiling
• Repairs - If you have professional trade skills could you help here?
Shower room seals and pipework.
Bip taps moved further into the shower rooms
Shelfs added to both main changing rooms underneath white boards.
Remove Lino from the hallway (Trip and dirt hazard)
Paint and a layer of self-levelling concrete added to corridor floor
Plastering needed in damaged walls
Add a closer to the inside bar door (stop it swinging and slamming)
• Additional suggestions - Update wall Plaques, move some into the corridors by the toilets ot free up space for framed shirts currently in the loft.
NB - All paint and brushes will be supplied by the club - bring overalls and old clothes

Equipment list:
• Please bring with you any petrol operated strimmer’s / hedge trimmers / brush cutters to help with clearing the banks.
• Wheelbarrows/rakes and shovels.
• Protective clothing, gloves and masks if you have strimmer’s etc.
• Post hole shovels
• Power tools - drills - grinders - etc
• Ladders
• Anything you think maybe needed and not covered here.
