There is nothing quite like the energy of a pool session when you’re surrounded by people who live and breathe the water. On Sunday, both Steve and Carl had the pleasure of hitting the blue with three of Dive 90’s SSI and PADI Divemaster candidates, and honestly?

Watching these three tackle their skills was a masterclass in focus and teamwork. We didn't just run through the standards; we refined them.

Highlights from the Session -

Precision Skill Circuits: Seeing the candidates demonstrate mask clears and regulator recoveries with total "demonstration quality" calm.

Buoyancy Goals: We spent some time on the "fine-tuning" phase. Watching them hover in perfect trim while managing gear adjustments is a reminder of how much hard work goes into making pro-level diving look easy.

Why It Matters

Being a Divemaster isn't just about being a great diver; it's about being a leader, a safety net, and a role model. The candidates at Dive 90 showed up today with the right grit and a great sense of humor.

Big Congratulations to the Perksy Family!
From the training pool at Tewkesbury Sports Centre to the crystal-clear waters of Mauritius, you’ve officially made the leap!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that the Perksy family has officially completed their Open Water Diver certifications. After putting in the hard work during their academic sessions and mastering the essential skills in the confined water sessions here at Dive 90, they took their talents to the Indian Ocean to finish the job.

The Journey to Certification

Phase 1 (The Foundation): The family tackled the theory and pool skills with us, showing great focus (and plenty of laughs) as they learned the ropes.

Phase 2 (The Adventure): They traded the local pool for the vibrant reefs and warm tides of Mauritius to complete their four qualifying open water dives.

Mastering buoyancy in a drysuit is a total game-changer, especially for making the most of the fantastic diving we have right here in the UK. No more shivering between dives—these guys are now officially "thermal pros."
