Reminder, this weekend, Sunday 17th September 10-1300 is our Scuba Jumble! We’ve all built up masses of spare dive gear, so this event is open to everyone that wants to come along to buy or sell. Contact details are in the picture to book your table, but do share, and come along!

We hit the waters of Plymouth Sound National Marine Park this weekend! Despite the pretty windy weather divers enjoyed the popular sites of Firestone Bay, the Breakwater Fort, and Cawsand Bay. All provided plenty of life and welcome shelter from the wind!

Last weekend was our annual pilgrimage to Porthkerris Divers in Cornwall. Plenty of wreck diving from Cotswold Diver, shore dives on the house reef, and even some sunshine. To top it all we even completed the final Ocean Diver qualification dives for our latest Junior member. Great british diving!

Last weekend was our first RIB trip of the year, diving out of Portland. The weather was glorious on the Saturday and visibility pretty good too. We even had members out on a diving trip from Poole on the same weekend, and similarly good conditions, even if there was a powerboat race to avoid!

Last weekend we headed to the South West Maritime Academy at Cromhall for a branch training day. With 5 Dive Leader trainees and an Advanced Ocean Diver, it was essential to team up with other local BSAC instructors to deliver all this training. Despite the chilly conditions we achieved a huge amount in the day, and had a fun day out in the process! We couldn’t do this without our network of dedicated instructors, branch members, and volunteers.

Our annual Awards night recognises the achievements and successes of our members, divers, and Branch. Earlier this month we were honoured to welcome one of our founder members to present the award he established in 1981, The George Skuse Progress Award. This really highlighted the strengths and heritage of the branch, especially as we celebrate the 70th Anniversary of BSAC this year. Thank you to everyone who organised and supported the event at Brickhampton Court Golf Complex, a truly great venue!
