👏👏 U8 Girls Warriors 👏 👏

🏆 Walbottle Tournament 🏆

The girls headed to Walbottle today to compete in a boys’ tournament, facing four new teams and one familiar opponent.

After settling into the tournament with a draw, we came up against a couple of very strong sides and suffered two defeats. The girls never stopped battling though, showing great resilience and determination to earn a place in the Conference Cup Final.

We faced a strong Ponteland boys’ team in the final and produced our best performance of the day. We took the lead early, and although Ponteland pulled one back late on, the girls defended brilliantly to hold on for a fantastic victory. Credit to Ponteland as well—they were a brilliant team with a great attitude throughout. 👏🏻

Special mentions to Olivia for a stunning top-corner strike, Isla for some outstanding saves, Kaida, Aria and Grace for moving the ball quickly with some excellent passing, and Frances, whose pace caused problems all day.

A brilliant day of football, with every single player playing their part. We’re incredibly proud of the girls and everything they achieved today.

There were lots of laughs, some fantastic football, and by the final whistle it was safe to say all of Barely Athletic FC were struggling to catch their breath! 😂⚽

The biggest win of the day, though, wasn’t on the pitch…

Together, we’ve raised an incredible £598 for Parkinson’s UK! 💙

A huge thank you to every player, parent, supporter, volunteer and everyone who came along, donated, bought cakes or cheered us on. Your support means so much and has helped us make a real difference for an amazing cause.

Our Mens First Team had their first pre season match this afternoon. With several new additions to squad it was a tough test against a very good Ferryhill. The game finished 1-1 with Chester le Street nearly edging it late on. A great start to our pre season preparations.
