🔴⚪️ Bolsover Town U13 Reds ⚪️🔴

This Saturday was another away game for the U13 reds, 4 away games in a row! This one had everything… goals, penalties, penalties overturned, handballs and a red card!

Bolsover started the first half with the majority of the possession but found themselves 1-0 down from a counter attack. The reds continued to have much of the possession and created chances for themselves with Tom coming closest after his free kick effort flew just over the crossbar. Rockets made the score 2-0 after converting a controversial penalty.

Rockets scored early on in the second half but our boys kept pushing forwards with Jacob forcing a couple of strong saves from the goalkeeper before Bobby played a cutting ball from defence and Jacob broke free, calmly slotting passed the goalkeeper. The reds kept pushing for goals but their goalkeeper was equal to everything with the best save of the match coming from Amy’s shot which looked destined to hit the back of the net but a reflex save from the Rockets goalkeeper stopped this. As the reds were pushing forwards, there were inevitable gaps in defence and Espial managed to make it 4-1 just before full time.

Special mention went to Theo for some excellent running up and down the pitch supporting in attack & defence. Player of the match went to Bartosz for solid and tireless defending from the second he was on the pitch to the second he left the pitch.

And, once again, thank you to Smurfit Westrock for sponsoring our Red home kit for the 2026/27 season.

🔴⚪️ Bolsover Town U13 Reds ⚪️🔴

This Saturday, it was a trip to Chesterfield town for another away game. The reds started the game very brightly with Kallum and Jacob coming close early in the first half after much of the possession in the opposition half. The passing style of football from the reds was exceptional, always looking to play the right pass and keep the ball. However, it was Chesterfield Town who took the lead on a counter attack, which they looked dangerous from all game. The reds responding immediately by winning a corner, excellently delivered by Tom. After a melee in the box, the ball fell back out to Tom who hit a low driven shot into the bottom corner to make the game level again. Chances fell to both teams but some good defending from Bobby & Bart and some excellent goalkeeping from Will kept the score at 1-1. Their goalkeeper was equal to it, making several saves after good efforts from Archie & Tom.

The second half started end to end with some superb defending from Bobby and top class saves from Will. On the other end of the pitch, some lovely football put Eddie through on goal which drew a great save from the Chesterfield goalkeeper. Seconds later, Chesterfield broke through again and made the score 2-1. Disaster struck for the reds as the goals came raining in for Chesterfield in a crazy 5 minute spell. The Reds settled down again, playing some composed football and regained defensive solidity. With minutes left, Amy was played through and she played a lovely cross across the face of goal for Archie to convert, making a final score of 5-2.

Special mentions went to Kallum for some great tenacity in midfield and Will for an excellent performance in goal. Player of the match went to Bobby for showing his experience at the back.

And a final thank you, goes to Amarsi & Co Photography for sponsoring the U13 reds away kit for the upcoming season.
