als usually take place in the evening after chill-outs, allowing members to unwind and socialise after playing. This year, we have other events planned like bowling and night out in piano bars. Mentoring Scheme
We have amazing talent at this society, if you’re looking to nurture someone else’s or improve yourself, take part in our mentor-mentee scheme. We’ll have an opportunity to meet the mentees and mentors before you commit to being teacher and student for the year. Chill-outs
Held on every three weeks on Wednesday at 7:30pm-9:30pm in the Ensemble Room, piano chill-outs are an opportunity to share your love of music and pieces you’ve been practicing with other members in the society! Feel free to join us regardless of your level of ability or preferred style—we welcome it all. And even if you are not a pianist, do come along and enjoy the music! Performance opportunities
We hold several concerts each term in which members have the opportunity to perform to the public, usually in the Helen Martin Studio at Warwick Arts Centre. This year, we have our Chopin Concert in collaboration with Polish Society, a general Piano Soc Showcase and more planned! Naturally other societies want in on our pool of wonderful pianists, so as other societies put on productions or concerts, this will present another opportunity to perform. Workshops/Masterclasses
Members can further take an active role in workshops and masterclasses given by instrumental tutors and visiting musicians. These are offered free of charge to all members, and have in the past included workshops on performance technique, sight-reading and Jazz improvisation. Trips
We also coordinate trips to see professional recitals at venues such as Birmingham Symphony Hall, Warwick Arts Centre and in London. Check out our calendar to see where we plan to go, don’t miss out on these fantastic trips! Stay connected

📢 Announcement of Elections!

❗️Important: if you want to get involved, you need to have membership, purchased no later than Wednesday 28th March❗️

📅Nominations open on Wednesay 6th March. This can be found on the SU website.

📅Our AGM will be held before elections. This will be held on Wednesday 13th March from 7.30 pm.

🗳Voting will then take place online for a period of 48 hours.

The positions we will be electing are: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Publicity Officer, Welfare and Media Officer, and Social Secretary.

We have included the constitutional responsibilities of these positions. However, this is just to give you an insight into the nature of the role and is by no means exhaustive.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

We will be heading to Symphony Hall in Birmingham next Thursday, 29 February, to the Bevolent Fund Concert.

Conducted by Sakari Oramo, with the violinist Daishin Kashimoto, the CBSO will perform Elgar's Cockaigne, Mozart's Violin Concerto no. 5 and Sibelius' Symphony no.5.

Tickets are £5. We will buy the tickets together, so please fill out the form below by Sunday if you would like to come!

We will be giving a Lunchtime Concert, this Thursday at 1pm, in the Ensemble Room. It will be a varied programme, showcasing the fantastic talent within our society.

Free hot drinks will be provided afterwards.

You are invited to the annual Music Centre Ball!

It will be held on Saturday 13th January from 7.30pm at Chesford Grange Hotel.

Tickets can be purchased via the SU website. It includes transport, a three course meal, music courtesy of big band, and wine!
