When people hear me talk about fitness, they often assume it's about weight loss.

It isn't.

At least, not for me.

Fitness came into my life at a time when I needed it most.

There were moments when life felt incredibly heavy.

I was raising children.

Running businesses.

Navigating loss, heartbreak, stress, anxiety, and challenges that often felt bigger than me.

And whilst exercise couldn't solve those problems, it gave me something I desperately needed.

Hope.

It gave me structure when life felt chaotic.

It gave me confidence when I doubted myself.

It gave me purpose when I felt lost.

And most importantly, it reminded me that I was stronger than I thought I was.

Every workout became a promise to myself.

A reminder that I was worth showing up for.

A reminder that I could do hard things.

That's why the work I do today goes so much deeper than helping women lose weight.

Because I know that most women who come to me aren't just carrying extra weight.

They're carrying years of stress.

Years of putting everyone else first.

Years of losing confidence in themselves.

Years of believing their best days are behind them.

I've been there.

And that's why I'm so passionate about helping women rediscover their strength.

Not just physically.

But mentally and emotionally too.

Because when you start showing up for yourself consistently, something incredible happens.

You stop seeing yourself as someone who is struggling.

And start seeing yourself as someone who is capable.

Strong.

Resilient.

And worthy of feeling good again.

Fitness didn't save my life because it changed my body.

It saved my life because it changed how I saw myself.

And that changed everything.

When people see these photos, they often assume this story is about competing.

The trophies.

The stage.

The results.

But the truth is, that's not what changed my life.

At the time, I was raising two young boys.

Running nine retail stores.

Trying to be everything to everyone.

And underneath it all, I was carrying the same doubts that so many women carry every day.

Am I good enough?

Am I capable enough?

Can I actually do this?

When a world-class bodybuilder encouraged me to step on stage, my first thought wasn't excitement.

It was fear.

Fear of failing.

Fear of being judged.

Fear of finding out I wasn't good enough after all.

But I did it anyway.

Not because I felt confident.

Because I made the decision to take the first step despite not feeling confident.

That's something I wish more women understood.

Confidence doesn't come first.

Action comes first.

Confidence follows.

The reason I'm sharing this today isn't because I think every woman should compete.

Far from it.

It's because so many of the women who come to me during perimenopause and menopause have lost belief in themselves.

They've spent years putting everyone else first.

They've lost confidence in their body.

Their energy.

Their health.

And often, their future.

They start believing that this is just how life is now.

That their best years are behind them.

I know that feeling.

And I also know it isn't true.

My competing journey taught me that we're capable of far more than we think we are.

That being busy isn't the barrier.

Being older isn't the barrier.

Being a mum isn't the barrier.

The biggest barrier is often the story we tell ourselves about what we're capable of.

That's one of the reasons I do what I do today.

Not simply to help women lose weight.

But to help them rebuild trust in themselves.

To feel strong again.

To feel confident again.

And to realise that this chapter of life can still be an incredible one.

For years, women have been told that the answer to weight gain is simple...

Eat less, cut carbs, avoid fats.

Start another diet on Monday.

But if that worked, wouldn't it have worked by now?

One of the biggest things I teach women inside the TFY Method is that menopause isn't simply a weight loss problem.

It's a hormonal transition.

And your body needs supporting differently.

That's one of the reasons I encourage Mediterranean-inspired eating.

Not because it's trendy.

Not because it's restrictive.

But because it's built around real, nutritious foods that support your body rather than fight against it.

Think colourful vegetables.

Protein-rich foods.

Healthy fats.

Oily fish.

Nuts and seeds.

Fruit.

Wholegrains.

Foods that nourish your body, support your hormones, and help keep you fuller for longer.

The goal isn't perfection.

The goal isn't never eating chocolate again.

And the goal certainly isn't surviving on salads.

The goal is creating a way of eating that supports your energy, your health, your strength, and your confidence for years to come.

Because when women start eating to support their body rather than punish it...

Everything changes.

They have more energy.

They feel stronger.

They stop obsessing over food.

And they finally begin building habits they can actually sustain.

Menopause doesn't mean your body is broken.

It simply means it needs a different approach.

I first met this amazing woman when she was fifty-six

Di never had weight issues before, but then menopause hit, and everything changed

If you've followed me for a while, you'll know I talk a lot about menopause.

But what you might not know is that there was a time when I hated everything about it.

I hated how my body was changing.

I hated feeling like I'd lost control.

I hated looking in the mirror and not recognising the woman looking back.

And most of all, I hated feeling like no matter how hard I tried, nothing worked anymore.

What I've learned since then is that menopause wasn't the problem.

My understanding of it was.

Because once I stopped treating my body like the enemy and started learning what it actually needed, everything changed.

Not overnight.

Not through a quick fix.

But through years of learning, experimenting, researching, and listening to my body.

The lessons in this carousel weren't easy to learn.

Some of them took me years.

Some of them came through frustration.

Some came through tears.

But every single one helped me become the woman I am today.

A woman who feels stronger.

More confident.

More capable.

And more at peace with her body than ever before.

That's why I'm so passionate about helping other women navigate this chapter.

Because I know how easy it is to believe that menopause is taking things away from you.

When in reality, it can become the chapter where you gain so much.

More strength.

One of the saddest things I see when women hit menopause isn't the weight gain.

It's the way they start shrinking themselves.

They stop putting themselves first.

They stop believing they can feel good again.

And somewhere along the way, they start accepting things they never would have accepted before.

The exhaustion.

The lack of confidence.

The clothes that no longer fit.

The feeling of looking in the mirror and not quite recognising the woman looking back.

So they do what they've always been told to do.

Eat less.

Exercise more.

Start another diet on Monday.

And when it doesn't work, they blame themselves.

But what if the problem was never you?
