It's tomorrow. It's league action. It's Darlington Spraire Lads Mens away to new boys T. S Rangers CFC again.
Spraire looking to take a big squad to the Grangefield Centre with 19 confirmed names currently (we shall see how many make it tomorrow)
No Eden Pugh still, this time he's missing out due to late birthday celebrations, original boss Bill Cocker is away, whilst Stewart Cocker has had a setback on his recovery.
Fingers crossed Spraire can show a better performance than recent games.

Just a second to think about folks....

👶🏻 As parents, we spend so much time protecting our children from the everyday things — helmets, seatbelts, coats, appointments.

❤️‍🩹 But there are things we can’t protect them from.

🧒🏾 And while you may not think of children’s insurance as something you need to consider, certain policies can provide valuable financial support if your child becomes seriously ill or suffers a critical condition or illness.

🥺 It’s not about expecting the worst.

❤️ It’s about making sure that, if the unexpected happens, money is one less thing you have to worry about.

🫶🏻 Because when your child needs you most, your focus should be on them — not the finances.

This week DSL are "On the road again" and its against familiar opposition. Once again we head over to stockton to face T. S Rangers CFC for what should be the final time this season in league action.
The hosts have had a baptism of fire joining the league this season but remain in high spirits as they find their footing in the Macron Sports Hub Darlington Sunday League. In both previous encounters Spraire have managed to win 3-2 with late goals to seal the victories.

East Durham JD's Sports Bar 3 - 4 Darlington Spraire Lads Mens

Bishop Auckland Heart Foundation Cup

And somehow they've done it again. Not a great performance all round but just enough to cause and cure a heart attack for manager Jay Burgess as Spraire advance in the cup.

3 Mins - GOAL!! It's route one Sam Allardyce ball as Keeper Joe Wilson punts a ball forward for Jack Leach-Owen, flicks the ball on for winger Declan Stranks to get behind and a calm finish past the keeper sees Spraire take an early lead

7 Mins - Corner from Charlie Graham sees Jack Leach-Owen climb highest to head it towards the goal but a good goaline clearence from East Durham avoid a bigger hill to climb.

8 Mins - GOAL!! Spoke too soon. Joshua Andrassy receives the ball wide right and crosses the ball for Jack Leach-Owen to take a touch down with his chest and hit it to the goalkeepers bottom right.

9 Mins - GOAL Instant reply from the hosts as they attack from kick off, earn a corner and a free player runs into the centre of the box and smashes a header past Joe Wilson. Still enquiring whos man that was.

21 Mins - GOAL The tricky winger for East Durham gets past the returning Billy Hinchliff crosses the ball and in the crowd of players a shot is scuffed under the keeper and into the net for an equaliser. The inquest continues.

HT 2-2

60 Mins - Josh Andrassy gets behind his defender and is brought down in the box PENALTY!!
After a brief deliberation he steps up to take it and.... wide?

69 Mins - A ball won high by Jack Leach-Owen sees him knock the ball past the defenders and chases it down, gets into the box and pulls it across for Josh Andrassy...... who slots it home this time GOAL!! A bit of retribution for the striker

71 Mins - The man who no one could stop is stopped by gravity and balance! Jack runs through and hits a slightly heavy touch and in chasing to recover 1v1 with the keeper just collapses outside the box. If East Durham have a sniper he did a cracking job there.

78 Mins - GOAL East Durham resort to the earlier Spraire tactic of route one. Beating the defensive line from a keeper punt forward and leaving the keeper for dead before slotting home. All square again!

83 Mins - GOAL!! He hunts the ball from anywhere it's that man Jack Leach-Owen getting the ball from a defensive corner at left back and motors down the pitch with two players trailing him. He looks up, spots Dec Stranks and slides a lovely ball between the defenders for Dec to hit one low under the keeper and into the net. Another late goal from Spraire.

FT ED 3 - 4 DSL

M.O.T.M & Oppo M.O.T.M - Jack Leach-Owen, the only man who could stop him was himself. Plenty chances, great movement and hard graft covering the pitch. Deserved his goal and other days would have more.

D.O.T.D - Ben Rodker. Played well until a foul throw led to a daft yellow card for punting the ball away. Compounded afterwards by going to the wrong pub and having a dog crap on his shirt. Don't think thats lucky like a pigeon fella.
