United 8–1 Mickleover Junior Spurs

We came flying out of the blocks from the first whistle, putting Mickleover under constant pressure and playing some brilliant football.

It didn’t take long for the first goal to arrive, with Leon getting us off the mark with a lovely finish! Shortly after, a great cross from Luis found Jaiden, who calmly tapped the ball into the net.

The goals kept coming, with Kayden and Noah both getting on the scoresheet, followed by a wonderful bicycle kick from Eithen-Jake! A brilliant first-half display from the team!

At half-time, the message was simple: keep the pressure on and continue playing our football.

The second half started a little scrappy, but the lads settled down and began playing some decent football again. Luis got his first goal of the game before Eithen-Jake added his second!

We continued to press, and a lovely through ball saw Eithen-Jake and Luis chase it down. Luis showed great awareness to square the ball to Eithen-Jake, who made no mistake in finishing to complete his hat-trick!

A big well done to Luis for the assist!

🔴⚫️⚽️ Super Sunday fixtures ⚽️

Autumn football is in full effect now and games are in full flow as we enjoy watching our grassroots games.

This weekend all clubs will support the FA SILENT SUPPORT WEEKEND (see below)

Down goes your noise, up goes their game!

Silent Support Weekend is a national initiative to help young players find their voice on the pitch, make their own decisions and enjoy their game…with no distracting noise from spectators on the sidelines.

Silent Support is positive support

During Silent Support Weekend, applause from spectators for good play – and quiet encouragement from coaches – is welcome. Everything else can have the weekend off.

But either way we will be there to support our Redwood Colts FC teams and ensuring the players have fun and create a positive atmosphere.

CUP GAME RESULT
United 2–0 Blue Tigers

We started the match strongly, putting Blue Tigers under a lot of pressure and playing some excellent football. We created several good opportunities and produced some quality efforts on goal, but their goalkeeper made some brilliant saves to keep them in the game.

It wasn’t long before Leon opened the scoring, grabbing his first goal for Redwood!

We continued to apply the pressure, with some excellent defending helping to keep Blue Tigers at bay.

At half-time, the message was clear: we needed to step up another gear and get back to playing football the way we know we can.

The second half saw us create chance after chance, but once again their goalkeeper showed some very solid hands and kept the scoreline close.

Blue Tigers had a couple of opportunities of their own, but our defensive line of Natan, Oscar and Luka were outstanding. Zinedine also produced a cracking challenge at a crucial moment to prevent Blue Tigers from getting on the scoresheet.

Lucas produced a wonderful save, tipping an effort over the bar that looked destined for the top corner.

We eventually got our second goal when Luis picked up the ball, drove past the halfway line and absolutely walloped it into the back of the net!

A brilliant team performance, with plenty of positives to take into the next game.

United 9–3 Ashbourne Aztecs

We faced Ashbourne Aztecs this morning, knowing we were in for a physical and challenging game.
We started the match well, but Ashbourne took the lead early in the first half.

That seemed to wake us up, and from there the lads really found their rhythm, playing some excellent football and creating plenty of chances.

Luis and Eithen-Jake were on fire, scoring five goals between them before half-time.
At the break, the message was simple: keep going, control the game, and make sure we keep a close eye on Ashbourne’s number 13.

The second half started strongly, with Kayden grabbing two quick goals to put us further ahead. Ashbourne managed to score twice more, but our lads kept their heads up and continued to apply pressure.
We finished the game strongly, with two more goals from Eithen-Jake and Luis to complete an excellent 9–3 victory.
