Leading the swims. Fastest on the bike. Fastest on the run.
HUUB athletes were right in the thick of it as the 2026 World Triathlon Championship Series concluded in Pontevedra.
Ricardo Batista took fourth on the day and third overall in the Series. Just five seconds separated him from the win after a battle with Matt Hauser, Vasco Vilaça and Alex Yee that went right to the closing stages.
For Yee, it was a reminder of just how much ground he can make up over 10km. Starting the run around 50 seconds behind, he worked his way through the field to join the fight for victory. A race best 28:46 run split secured third, just four seconds off the win.
New to HUUB, Connor Bentley delivered his best WTCS result with ninth, recording the fastest bike split and making the move into the front pack that helped set up his finish.
Márton Kropkó and Mark Dévay led the men out of the water, with Dévay racing in his HUUB TC Performance suit. In the women’s race, Tilly Anema set the pace in the swim, with only one athlete able to stay with her, before finishing 26th, just ahead of fellow HUUB athlete Sian Rainsley.
A World Championship Series podium, breakthrough results and HUUB athletes leading both swims. Plenty to be proud of as the season comes to a close.
