Alvaston parkrun

Thanks to the volunteers who have flocked in like Geese these last two days (but are considerably less smelly!) We are good to go in the morning. It's going to be a warm one folks, so stay hydrated. See you in the park 👍

Mirror, mirror in the lake, what volunteer role could I take... This week we're short of a time keeper, token hander outer, funnel support (could be a busy one with Long Eaton cancelled), tail walker and someone to reopen the car park (could be a fast runner). It's Tuesday, it's 5 past 6, it's...not Crackerjack! Instead it's that time of the week where we put out our volunteer request. Lots of roles available - drop us an email or comment if you can help. Just a heads up as well that we are cancelled on 27th due to another event in the park. Picture of some of the many cute baby birds currently swimming around on the lake.

Please share your time >> Fabulous to see so many people today despite the rain. Photos and videos are coming! The rain + phone apps made the timing tricky today so results will be delayed and it would help if people could share watch times + position number. Comment below or email our inbox.

We had some lost property today including an earbud found on the course and a bracelet left on the trolley...

🇩🇪 Special Event Timings tomorrow (6th June):
8:15am - Car park opens
8.45am - First timers brief
8:50 am - Mayor's Speech, musical act and boomerang handover.
9:00am - Usual run brief & parkrun start
9.45am - Event group photo
10.30am - Car Park Closes

Please come in black, red or apricot parkrun tops and help us make a German flag photo to send to our friends in Osnabruck to celebrate the 50 years of twinning with Derby. There will also be German themed 🎂 and pace runners 🏃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ this week.

Bear in mind we are expecting higher than average numbers and that the car park may become full. Alternative parking is at Derby Arena (walk up riverside path).

1 more marshal please (10pm Thu) ...so we can enjoy our German special event 🤩 which will include cake🎂, a boomerang, hopefully lots of people in parkrun red/black/apricot tops, a special guest and drumroll...a musical surprise! 🥳 We'll also be joined by a sign language volunteer 🤗
