We are thrilled to announce that young talent Casey Burr has officially re-signed with the Derby Trailblazers for the upcoming season!

A relentless worker on both ends of the floor, Casey continues to develop his game and bring tremendous energy, grit, and depth to our squad. Having him back in the Blazers colours is another massive boost to our roster continuity and local talent pathway.

Head Coach Kyle Henderson commented:

CONNER WASHINGTON RETURNS TO THE BLAZERS FOR 2026/27! 🔥

We are thrilled to announce that veteran guard Conner Washington has officially re-signed with the Derby Trailblazers for the upcoming 2026/27 campaign!

A proven winner and household name in British basketball, Conner brings an elite pedigree to our backcourt, having captured 15 major titles during his legendary tenure with the Leicester Riders, alongside European competition and Great Britain senior international caps.

Known for his high basketball IQ, lockdown perimeter defence, and clutch playmaking, he remains a vital floor general and a leader for our squad.

Coach Henderson is happy to see Washington return, and said - "We're really thrilled to have re-signed Conner. Not only is he a proven leader with a wealth of experience and the skills necessary to compete at this level, but he’s also a great guy and a fantastic role model to have around the club. We're really, really happy to bring him back."

You know the grin, you know the hustle, and you know the energy! Derby Trailblazers are ecstatic to confirm that Raheem May-Thompson has officially put pen to paper for the upcoming season 2026/27!

A true fan favourite with a Cheshire Cat smile that can light up the entire arena, Raheem has been at the very heart of our most memorable trophy runs and silverware triumphs.

Whether he’s erasing shots off the backboard as a two-time D1 Defensive Player of the Year, throwing down explosive transition dunks, or just feeding off the roar of the Clarence Wiggins crowd, Raheem brings an undeniable spark every single time he steps onto the floor.

Head coach Henderson is greateful for Heems return - "I love the fact that Heem’s back. He’s been a staple of the team for the last few years, so to have him return and bring that high energy and contagious, joyous attitude around the guys is great. He's still got a lot to give to the game, and I'm absolutely buzzing."

MALCOLM SMITH RETURNS TO THE TRAILBLAZERS 💙🏀

Derby Trailblazers are thrilled to announce that fan favourite forward Malcolm Smith has officially re-signed with the club for the upcoming 2026/27 season.

Known affectionately to the Blazers faithful simply as "Smithy", the talismanic forward has been a cornerstone of the club's modern era since first arriving in 2018.

Over the years, he has established himself as one of the most prolific, reliable, and respected players in the Division.

During his remarkable journey in Derby colours, Smithy has consistently led from the front, delivering silverware, claiming MVP honours, and playing a decisive role in the club's unforgettable double-winning campaign to secure both the league title and the KitKing Trophy.

His physical presence inside, lethal mid-range touch, and relentless competitive drive have made him an indispensable leader on the court and a true part of the Trailblazers family off it.

Commenting on the return of the powerhouse forward, Head Coach Kyle Henderson shared his excitement about having Smithy back in the lineup:

"We're absolutely delighted to have re-signed Malcolm. He’s truly part of the family here and has been on a real journey with the Blazers. Having spoken with him over the off-season, there’s a clear, new-found hunger in him, and I know he's ready for the challenge ahead. I can't wait to see that energy out on the floor this season."

SUPER CHARLIE BROWN IS BACK! 💙🏀

One of the most familiar faces in the Derby Trailblazers family is returning for another season with the club!

Charlie Brown has re-signed with Derby, and we couldn't be happier to have our pass-first point guard back on court. From coming through the club's development system to becoming a key part of the senior side, Charlie represents everything the Blazers are about.

After being voted Supporters' Player of the Year by our fans last season, it's safe to say Charlie has earned a special place in Blazers hearts! 👑

Head coach, Kyle Henderson couldn't be happier with Charlie's return - "I'm really happy to have Charlie Brown back with us. Him and I go way back to junior years, so it’s really nice that we can continue this journey together."
