On Friday, 12 June, thanks to the England and Wales Cricket Board, we were delighted to reward members of our Women in Cricket Network, along with those making a real difference to the women's and girls' game across Derbyshire, with tickets to the opening match of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup at Edgbaston! 🏏🌍
It was fantastic to see over 100 members of our local cricket community enjoy the occasion, celebrate the growth of the game, and experience the excitement of world-class cricket together.
A brilliant evening in Birmingham and a fitting way to recognise the people helping to inspire the next generation of women and girls in cricket.💜

A very special happy 70th birthday to our very own DCF legend, Mick Glenn! 🎉
Everyone at the DCF—and we’re sure everyone involved in cricket across Derbyshire—would like to celebrate Mick on this milestone day.
A true stalwart of cricket at all levels in Derbyshire, Mick has done it all—player, coach, volunteer, committee member, umpire and scorer. He has been part of the Foundation/Board since 2004 and continues to dedicate an incredible amount of time and effort to growing the game across the county, alongside the countless hours he gives to his beloved Denby Cricket Club
Mick is, without doubt, a cornerstone of recreational cricket in Derbyshire and a hugely respected and well-loved member of the cricketing community.
We’re sure you’ll all join us in wishing Mick a fantastic 70th birthday! 🎂🎈🎁
If you have any messages or memories you’d like to share, please pop them in the comments—we’d love to pass them on to the great man. 👏
