This is what compassion and understanding get you. Seeing the walls come down and the progress made across the table.
Arriving in a new, unfamiliar country isn't easy, but Andres flourished in our ESOL into Work group, meeting employers, making connections and finding his feet in UK employment. He turned a part-time opportunity at The Grand National into an extended contract, with CleanEvent Services Ltd recognising the TLC he demonstrated in his previous experience in his home country, working in a fast-paced airport role.
To this day, Andres remains at CleanEvent, keeping us updated on his progress. It was a pleasure to give him the step up he needed to navigate the UK labour market.

Last week we added our second Community Champion at Reach. Rebecca will be a fantastic addition to the hub.
Community Champions are a vital part of our hyper-local neighbourhood support services. They can offer their local expertise and established relationships in the community to bridge the gap to Reach, letting people know how Transform Lives Company can help.
We can't wait to see the team grow further. Michael & Rebecca are just the beginning đź’ś

Today we headed to Burnage Close in Speke with a special treat for local residents: free ice cream for everyone, along with information about how we can support them with their employment journey - whenever they're ready.
Whilst Mel & Rhona were busy knocking at doors, South Liverpool Homes spoke with other residents about how they would like to use the local green space. We also had the National Literary Trust there providing free books and creating a relaxed reading area for children to enjoy.
A lovely afternoon bringing people together, listening to the community and creating a space for families to connect. đź’š

Place-based employment support is about more than helping people find jobs. It's about being present in communities, building trust and creating opportunities right on people's doorstep.
This feedback from Dean, who accessed support through our team at Reach in Speke, perfectly captures why local, relationship-led support matters.
After being referred by South Liverpool Homes, Dean met with Natalia& Rhona and quickly secured employment.
What stands out most is not just the speed of the outcome, but how the support made him feel:
"You're like me mate not an advisor. Proper sound and down to earth."
For us, that's what place-based support is all about. Being accessible, approachable and connected to local opportunities, while treating every person as an individual.
Congratulations to Dean on his new role, and thank you to Rhona and Natalia for continuing to make a difference in the Speke community.

"I didn’t have an appointment, but Rhona was there that day and kindly took the time to speak with me."
Support from TLC at Reach in Speke continues to make a real difference, demonstrated by another fantastic job outcome and some wonderful feedback from Fernanda.
By being consistently available to Speke residents, we're helping ensure that anyone who needs support has someone to turn to. Working alongside the organisations, services and employers based at Reach, we're able to connect people with the right support at the right time, helping them move closer to employment and achieve their goals.
If you live in Speke and are looking for some support - with anything from finding work, or wanting to look for a new job - you can find us in Parklands Library at Reach

"For one day each Thursday, we are strong."
Those words from a participant at our Chatty Café perfectly capture why this space matters.
What started as a place for Livv Housing Group tenants to come together has become something much more. It's a safe, welcoming environment where people can talk, listen, share experiences, and build genuine friendships.
One participant told us:
"The past few months have brought out the best of me. I would not talk to people and now I can write down stories and share them. I am recognised by others."
For many people, isolation can affect confidence, wellbeing, and a sense of connection. Through simple conversations over a cup of tea, we're seeing people rediscover their voices, build meaningful relationships, and feel part of a community again.
They also shared:
"We sit and chat, but this has brought back life into people who feel they can talk about anything and have a laugh. That is what life should be like."
This is exactly what the Chatty Café is about: creating a space where people can feel comfortable, valued, and connected.
We're incredibly proud of the friendships being formed, the stories being shared, and the confidence that's growing week after week.
Long may it continue.

This was some wonderful feedback from Anna, who's now in the NHS helping people who've been where she once was.
She's a fantastic success story in determination and perseverance.
We're so glad you're still moving forward and keeping the momentum going!

Really proud of everyone who took part in our first Workology group at Reach in Speke 👏
Over the course of the programme, people built confidence, picked up new work skills, improved their CVs and interview skills, and started thinking differently about what’s next for them.
Some of the feedback from the group really shows the difference it made:
💬 “Before the group I was unsure what my next steps would be, unsure about a new job career.”
💬 “It gave me something to focus on, and now I’ve got a structured routine.”
💬 “Rhona has been absolutely brilliant, helpful & hilarious.”
A massive shoutout to our team in Speke, Rhona & Natalia for creating such a supportive and welcoming space for the group. The relationships and trust she built with people made a huge difference.
It’s been great seeing people come out of their shells, grow in confidence, support each other and start connecting with new opportunities.
Well done everyone involved ❤️
