πŸ₯³ This SQP week we're celebrating the team at Westgate Labs. We’ve used them for 15 years and have always been grateful for their expert knowledge and friendly advice. 🀩 Thanks for making the process straight forward for us, so that we can give our horses the best care. πŸ₯°πŸ΄

Check out their page for your chance to win some of the goodies they’re giving away this week!! 🎁

We’re fortunate to have a weigh bridge here at Low Meadows, so we can ensure that we’re accurately dosing our horses with wormer when they do need to be given them - just one of the ways we are fighting wormer resistance. πŸ’ͺπŸͺ±πŸŒ±πŸŽ

Rebecca, Annabelle & Lucy have had a fab day at Port Royal EEC. Thanks to the Performance Mentoring Programme for the opportunity to learn from yet another master of their trade & to Michael for sharing so much insight. Another day well spent!

Ethical, responsible, sustainable horse ownership/management 16/02/2026

Exciting times ahead!!
Low Meadows will be transitioning our grazing management to an Equicentral system. We're looking forward to seeing the benefits to our horses, both physically and mentally, our land and the environment.

We’re really grateful to be supported by Equiculture and The Equicentral System and the Wear Rivers Trust who are holding this talk in order to give our liveries and other local equestrians the opportunity to understand the reasons, benefits and practical implications involved.

The event is open to everyone, so if you’d like to learn more about sustainable equine management please book your ticket via the link.

Ethical, responsible, sustainable horse ownership/management Horse pasture/land management, horse care, welfare and care for the environment (the One Welfare concept). Alternative Equicentral grazing system.

Congratulations to our apprentice Annabelle for passing her Pony Club Spurs Test today. πŸ‘πŸŽπŸ…

This certifies that Annabelle
- knows the welfare implications associated with the use of spurs, as well as being able to recognise signs that the horse may not be comfortable with their use.
- has demonstrated that she can ride correctly in an empathetic and educated way whilst wearing spurs, showing a balanced and independent position with a stable lower leg.

Annabelle has shown that she understands how and when to use spurs appropriately to improve communication and the precision of the aids, as well as having a good knowledge of the fit, care and different types of spurs.
Only riders who have passed their Spurs Test or C+ test are allowed to wear spurs for Pony Club activities.

Well done Annabelle (and the very handsome Joey!) πŸ₯³πŸ΄

Wednesday was a busy day of learning and networking for us at the first ever YardWise event.

There are so many aspects to managing a yard and so many things we need to know about in order to give our horses the best care, our owners the best support and our staff a happy and safe workplace. It’s priceless to have this access to leading experts and so encouraging to feel part of a community that is driving standards in our industry.

Massive thanks to Cheryl, Amanda, Helen and all the team that made the event possible and such a great success! πŸ‘πŸŽ‰

Wahoo!! Today marks 15 years of Low Meadows Equestrian Centre.
πŸŽ‰πŸ΄πŸ₯‚πŸ₯³
We want to say a huge thank you to all of our customers and staff, past and present for your support and for helping to shape the yard into what it is today.

We didn't get to celebrate our 10th anniversary year quite as we wanted to (in 2020), so here's hoping we can do it justice this time!

We've lots of exciting projects in the pipeline, so watch this space...
