⚙️ Dialling in your kit setup

A recent twinset configuration workshop focused on improving trim, balance and efficiency underwater.

As divers progress, small setup tweaks can make a big difference to comfort and control.

We also learned how the RNLI D class lifeboat handles close shoreline work, while larger vessels cover wider offshore areas.

Great insight for any diver heading out to sea.

⚖️ Scuba Tip: Check your weighting early in the season

Kit changes, different suits, time out of the water — all can affect your weighting.

Take time to re-check it properly.
It makes buoyancy, trim and air consumption much easier to manage.

Our BSAC Basic Boat Handler training is underway — giving members the skills to safely run and support dive operations.

It’s a key part of club diving and a great way to build confidence on the water.

Club members recently had the chance to tour the RNLI boats and learn more about the search and rescue work they carry out at sea.

From training to equipment, it really highlights what goes into keeping people safe offshore.

🤿 First harbour dive for Suz!

A big milestone for one of our newest members, completing their first Sovereign Harbour dive.

Whilst she's already fully PADI qualified, these early dives with a new club are where confidence really starts to build — getting comfortable, learning the environment, and putting training into practice.

Our basic boat handling trainees and club divers recently visited the SS Clara, a local wreck just off the Eastbourne coast.

The SS Clara was a German cargo vessel sunk during WWI, now resting on the seabed as a fascinating dive site full of structure and marine life.

A brilliant dive for building experience — and a great reminder of the history right on our doorstep.
