In the last 12 months The Bike Station has refurbished over 25 tonnes of bikes (the equivalent of an adult humpback whale!) providing joyful, affordable and environmentally friendly transport instead of contributing to landfill.

We want a Scotland with strong reuse policies which support charities like us and enable us. We are asking our MSPs to for reuse charities like ours!

Our crowdfunder is now closed, and we are delighted to have raised over £10,000! Huge thanks to everyone who donated, and to Spokes for giving us £5000 of match funding.

Still keen to support us? We are always looking for bike donations to sell on our shop floors and use for our community programmes, helping children and adults find their own freedom on two wheels.

Here at The Bike Station, we **love** cargo bikes. Why?
🚲they help us to move bikes and parts between our branches
🚲they allow us to transport multiple kids bikes to our schools activities
🚲 they're a clean, quick and fun way to move around!

We love cargo bikes SO much that we run a free cargo bike lending scheme, AND we've partnered with other cargo bike libraries in Edinburgh and the Lothians to put on a Cargo Bike Carnival - come join us, it's totally free!

Bike of the Week is back!
Our fantastic mechanic Ez has done a full custom build of a mid 90s Saracen Eiger, turning this 90s MTB into a slick city cruiser. With a 1x9 drivetrain conversion, tan wall Billy Bonkers tyres, and a bit of bling with the purple pedals and grips, rounded off with some swept back trekking handlebars. It’s a proper head turning bike. But the best part? It rides every bit as good as it looks.

Ever seen a cargo bike glide past you and wanted to have a go yourself? Now it your chance!
Come to our Cargo Bike Carnival on 11 October, 11am - 2pm by the Pavilion Cafe on the Meadows.

The Bike Station is teaming up with other cargo bike living organisations in Edinburgh and the Lothians to help more people experience the joy and convenience of a MASSIVE bike. At The Bike Station use cargo bikes to transport bikes, parts, repair stands and much more around Edinburgh and Perth, and we absolutely love them. Come along to try one out, or bring your own cargo bike and dress it up for the contest. This event is totally free and unticketed, just pop by whenever!

Our crowdfunder is at nearly £5000 (before match funding from Spokes is included)! To the 114 people who have donated, thank you so much. With the cost of living as it is, we don't take your financial support lightly- we are so grateful. Your support will help us to keep saving bikes from landfill, offering a free kids bike library, cycling confidence and bike maintenance skills, and much more.

So we got flooded during extreme rain last month.... demoralising? Not really.
We know that climate change will bring more extreme weather to Scotland and across the world - this flood has just reminded us how important it is to make sustainable transport affordable and accessible to everyone. (Especially if that transport mode is also joyful and fun!)
