HARRY CARSON MBE

We are deeply saddened at the news of the passing of the last of our Founding Members, Harry Carson, at his home in Armagh aged 96.
Harry had a successful playing career with Enniskillen YMCA in the 1940s and early Fifties and captained the Fermanagh and Western Representative side on a number of occasions before YMCA FC disbanded.
He then founded Rangers in 1953, introducing brother Cecil and such great players as Robert Maxwell, “Spider” Young, the Woods brothers, the Clearys and the Fitzpatricks. He won a number of medals with Rangers before his career took him away from Enniskillen, though he returned on a number of occasions to play, and in fact turned out for Rangers, in goal, in September 1968 for the last time.
He followed Rangers’ progress closely, attending Anniversary Dinners and sending the club his congratulations on our successes. He and his wife visited the Ball Range in 2015 along with Cecil, and he expressed his great pleasure that the foundations he had laid down more than sixty years before had resulted in the club we have today.

Well done to our 2014/15 girls who played in the Ballinamallard Girls Cup 2026 tournament. The girls put in an amazing effort and worked well as a team. They played against some tough opposition but came out on top on penalties in the final to win the Shield. This is a great start to the 26/27 season with an exciting league ahead! SB 🔴⚪️
