Ever wondered what kind of people actually train at The Training Yard?
Meet Jen 🫶🏼
She joined us 18 months ago, and in this reel she talks honestly about what it’s been like, what she’s surprised herself with, and why she keeps coming back.
Oh… and she casually drops a fun fact about herself that absolutely nobody saw coming. 😂 You’ll have to watch until the end for that one.
If you’ve been thinking about giving it a go, this is your sign to stop wondering what it’s like and hear it from someone who’s already done it.
Drop us a message if you’d like to come and see what we’re all about. 🤝🏽

A space designed for people to become the strongest, most capable version of themselves — in and out of the gym.

Every coach here brings different experiences, different strengths and a different way of helping people.
But we’re all working towards the same thing: helping you become healthier, stronger and more confident than when you first walked through the door. 💪🏽
Have a swipe and get to know the team behind The Training Yard.
If you’ve trained with us before, let us know in the comments who’s had the biggest impact on your journey and why. We’d love to hear your stories. ❤️

The best time to join a gym isn’t January. It’s the start of a training block. 🏁
In September, every member at The Training Yard sets new baselines and starts a fresh 12-week block - which means whether you’ve trained for years or you’re walking through the door for the first time, everyone starts from the same line.
Get in now, spend the next few weeks learning the formats with our coaches, and hit day one of the new block ready.
Link in bio, or DM us “SEPTEMBER” and we’ll sort the rest. 💬

Why do we test and retest every 12 weeks? 📊
Because “trust the process” only works when you can see the process working.
Every training block at The Training Yard starts with baselines and ends with a retest. It gives you proof your training is working, a reason to stay consistent in between, and it gives our coaches the data to build your next block properly.
We’re coming to the end of our current block now - retest week is nearly here. Keep an eye on our stories to see what 12 weeks of purposeful training looks like when the numbers go up on the board. 📈

🏃 Training Yard 10K Community Run! ☕
On Sunday 19th July at 10:00am, we’re hosting a FREE community 10K run for all members, and we’d love to see as many of you there as possible!
Whether you’re:
🟢 Running your first ever 10K
🟡 Looking for a comfortable social run
🔴 Chasing a new PB
..we’ll have different pace groups led by staff and members, so there’ll be something for everyone.
📍 Meeting point: Hang Time, Exmouth Seafront
🕙 Time: 10:00am
The route is mostly flat along the seafront with just a couple of hills, making it a great route for all abilities.
Once everyone’s finished, we’ll head into Hang Time for a coffee and a catch-up. ☕
You’re more than welcome to bring friends or family along too, and if someone doesn’t fancy the run, they’re very welcome to meet us afterwards for the coffee.
I’ll be adding this as a class on the app. Please only book onto the class if you’re joining the run (there’s no need to book if you’re just coming for coffee afterwards).
Hopefully this can become a regular community event, so if you’ve been looking for a reason to tackle your first 10K or just fancy a Sunday morning run with great company, we’d love to have you there! 💙🏃

One photo can say everything about The Training Yard without showing a single workout.
Tucked away on a working farm and fields stretching out in every direction.
What makes this place special was never going to be the postcode or the building. It’s what happens inside it.
It’s early mornings when the sun comes up over the fields. It’s people finding confidence they didn’t know they had. It’s conversations after class that last longer than the workout. It’s coaches who genuinely care, and members who look out for one another.
In a world that feels increasingly busy, polished and manufactured, there’s something refreshing about a place that’s completely authentic.
The Training Yard isn’t trying to be impressive.
It just quietly changes lives. 🌱
We understand that life doesn’t always leave much room for yourself.
Work gets busy. Families grow. Injuries happen. Priorities change.
Before you know it, training becomes something you used to do.
That’s more common than you might think.
If you’re thinking about getting back to it, you don’t need to get fit before you walk through our doors. You don’t need to prove anything either.
Our job is simply to understand where you are today and help you move forwards from there.
Patiently. Safely. One step at a time.
That’s how lasting progress is built.
Come in and have a chat - we’re in sunny Topsham 😊
Last Saturday was all about taking a moment to appreciate the people who’ve built this place into what it is.
From the outside, we’re a collection of shipping containers in a farmyard. Inside, somehow, it’s become something that means an awful lot to a lot of people.
The friendships, the encouragement, the laughs between sets, the conversations after class, the people who quietly make someone else’s day a little better. That’s what we were celebrating. Our people.
To everyone who came along to Darts Farm, thank you.
To our coaches, thank you for caring as much as you do.
To every member, whether you picked up an engraved glass or simply cheered someone else on, thank you for being part of what makes The Training Yard feel the way it does.
None of this exists without you.
We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built together, but it also feels like we’re only just getting started.
Here’s to everything that’s still to come. 🤩
