๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐Swim the Night ๐๐โโ๏ธ
Less than two weeks to go, eight members of our Star Diving community are taking on a 24-hour swim challenge: one mile every hour, through the night at Guildford Lido. We are doing this to raise desperately needed funds for Star Diving.
๐
We are a small club, and fundraising is what allows us to give our divers better opportunities, better training, and the equipment they need to develop and thrive.
๐
The Swim The Night team have trained relentlessly for months, often first in the pool and last to leave, fitting sessions around work and childcare, and pushing through aches, cramp, dizziness and cold water.
๐
If you can donate, please help us. If you can share this with friends and family, even better. This is how a small club makes a big difference.
๐
Your support directly helps us invest in the club:
๐งฑ ยฃ2,000 โ Wall bars to support strength and conditioning
๐บ ยฃ4,000 โ Dive replay system to improve coaching and progress
We are already over a quarter of the way there ๐ but we still need help to reach our goal.
Every donation goes directly into improving opportunities for our divers.
And to our swimmersโฆ thank you. Your commitment and determination are incredible.

Eastern regional Skills
Well done to our squad of 10 divers who competed at this yearโs East Region skills competition in Southend.
This was the second opportunity for our divers to compete, aim towards improving on the previous qualifier and try to qualify for the National Skills Finals to be held in Southampton in July.
Half our team here reached their qualification standard, of which two divers also claimed โguestโ gold medals afterwards.

๐ผ Santa Skills 2025 ๐
๐ผ
Well done to our team of 15 divers who travelled by train up to Yorkshire to compete at Santa Skills. This festive-themed competition, hosted by City of Sheffield Diving Club at Ponds Forge, attracted more than 235 competitors from clubs in England, Scotland and Ireland.
Santa Skills is run as a circuit-style meet, with divers competing a total of either six, eight or nine rounds across two or three stations (depending on the event). Due to its popularity and large entry numbers, all the events were held as straight finals to avoid a late finish.
This was the largest team we have taken to this competition since 2017, with two-thirds of our divers competing and experiencing an overnight team trip here for the first time. Awards were presented to the top six in each event, and more than a third of our divers medalled.
๐ Thanks to Claire, Joanne and Howard for volunteering their time to be our chaperones on this occasion. ๐
