🏉 DOUBLE BILL AT HOME AT WOODHEAD PARK THIS WEEKEND

🔴 U17s v Roundhegians — 11:00am
⚪ U18s v Dinnington — 1:00pm

There’s plenty of history behind both teams Roundhegians began in 1928, formed by former pupils of Roundhay School. There’s a family connection to Brods too: one of our coaches had an uncle who played for Roundhegians in the 1970s!

Dinnington is a special fixture for our current U18s: it was the last game they played together in their previous form. It was also Cormac’s first game for Brods. He’s unfortunately injured at the moment, so we’re wishing him a speedy recovery and hope to see him back out there soon.

Come down, get behind both teams and make some noise for the lads! 🔴⚪

🏉 BRODS ACADEMY — CHARACTER IN THE SUNSHINE! 🔴⚪

Our U17s went down 33–10 away at Bees, but there was plenty to be proud of, starting with putting out a full squad, despite 11 players being unavailable. A brilliant sign of the depth we’re building at Brods! 💪

At 19–0 down after ten minutes, the lads had a mountain to climb, but they dug in, stuck together and made a proper contest of it. Matty Dakins and Oli Harper scored two cracking tries, backed by a huge effort across the team in the warm weather. October clearly hadn’t read the Yorkshire weather forecast! ☀️

Plenty to work on, but no shortage of spirit, determination or willingness to put a shift in for each other.

👏 Thanks to Bradford & Bingley for the game and their hospitality, and to everyone who came along to support the lads.

Fancy being part of it? Come and join Brods Academy! Whether you’re an experienced player or fancy giving rugby a go, new faces are always welcome. Bring your boots — we’ll provide the Yorkshire encouragement! 🏉
