Well done Weymouth sailing club

We’re delighted to share that Weymouth Sailing Club has received a grant from Low Carbon Dorset to install a new Solar PV system. This project will make a big difference to our carbon footprint and support a cleaner, greener future for the club.

A huge thank you to Dorset Council for their guidance and support. This is a fantastic step forward for our community.

The IQ foil world championship comes to Weymouth and Portland in September and you can come and watch. But there is so many more benefits to the local community than just the spectacle of the event.

In this weeks blog read all about Inspiring the Next Generation Through the iQFOiL Elevate Programme.

The iQFOiL Elevate Programme has been making waves across Weymouth and Portland, introducing young people to the exciting world of windsurfing and helping them discover the incredible watersports opportunities available right on their doorstep.

Delivered in partnership with The Official Test Centre (OTC) and the Royal Yachting Association the programme has been designed to inspire local young people to get out on the water, build confidence, develop new skills, and explore potential pathways into both competitive sport and careers within the outdoor industry.

Since launching, the programme has engaged a diverse range of community groups, providing many participants with their very first experience of windsurfing. Along the way, young people have not only learned new skills but have also developed a genuine enjoyment and appreciation for being on the water.

There are so many fantastic people who make our sports possible around the South west. Why not nominate someone who makes a difference in your boating community.

Thank someone you know with an RYA Award 🏆

Our boating community couldn’t exist without the incredible commitment, skill and community spirit within our sport.

The RYA Awards exist to give much-deserved recognition to the people and organisations who work so hard to help us all get more out of sailing and to ensure more people can access the water.

If you’ve been inspired or helped in your journey, now's the time to say thank you and submit your nomination: http://rya.org/10xP50Z78r1
