A double Man of the Match from our midweek defeat to Kirkfield, with Max Stewart and Reece O’Neil both putting in outstanding performances. 👏⚽️

Excellent between the sticks. His positioning was outstanding throughout, constantly alert and quick off his line to clear anything played over our defence. Added some very good saves as well. A top performance from Max. 💪🧤

Reece has started the competitive games exactly how he finished pre-season amongst the goals!

Two goals on the night, opening the scoring with a brilliant header guided into the far corner before adding his second with a great strike from outside the box. The wee man was outstanding throughout and caused problems all night.

Well done, lads fully deserved!

A frustrating one to take in our first competitive game of the season.

For large spells we felt we were the side trying to get the ball down and play football, but at times we were guilty of taking too many touches and not moving the ball quickly enough. With a lot of new faces still learning each other’s game, that understanding will take a little time to build — but we believe it will click, and hopefully sooner rather than later.

Kirkfield had a much more direct approach and looked to go long whenever possible. It might not have been the way we wanted to play, but ultimately it worked for them and they leave with the three points.

Plenty for us to learn from, plenty to work on, and we move on to the next one.

All the best to Kirkfield for the rest of the season. 🤝

PRESEASON TOP SCORERS

Big Reece looking back to his best! 🔥

5 goals in 6 games for Reece O’Neil, and even more impressive considering he hasn’t always been playing as a striker. He’s shown just how prolific an attacking option he can be and finishes preseason sitting top of the scoring charts.

Plenty of the other boys have chipped in with goals as well, which is exactly what we want to see. Goals coming from different areas of the pitch and plenty of competition for places.

The attacking options are looking good heading into the serious stuff!
