🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 FANTASTIC ANNOUNCEMENT 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

What an outstanding day we had at the first Transplant Triples held at Orbiston Bowling Club on Saturday 27th June 2026, organised and hosted by our very own Ian Alexander!💙

The day got underway with 20 triples arriving to compete in what proved to be a highly competitive and enjoyable tournament. Teams were split into 4 sections of 5, with each team playing 5 games in a bid to secure a place in the semi-finals.

The standard of bowling throughout the day was outstanding, with every section producing some excellent matches and plenty of close contests.

🏆 Semi-Final 1
Orbiston’s Dominic Cherries, alongside his dad and brother, topped Section 1 to face fellow Orbiston skip Claire Barclay. Dominic’s triple came through to book their place in the final.

🏆 Semi-Final 2
Carol Laird’s Clydebank triple took on George McCrae’s Burnhead triple in another closely fought match, with Clydebank securing the second place in the final.

🥇 The Final
The home side continued their impressive form, with Dominic Cherries’ Orbiston triple defeating Clydebank 5–3 to become the inaugural Transplant Triples Champions. Congratulations to Dominic, his dad and brother on a fantastic achievement! 👏

Finally, a massive thank you to everyone who made the day such a success:

⚽️ all the teams who entered the tournament and loved ones who came to support on the day
⚽️ everyone who donated to the fundraiser, whether it be monetary donations or prize donations
⚽️ Bean 2 Work CIC who generously supplied a much appreciated caffeine reserve for our players
⚽️ Patricia Reid for supplying our players with our morning rolls and assisting with our lunchtime buffet
⚽️ Orbiston BC for gifting us their facilities to host the event

Together we raised over £2,100 in support of Scotland Transplant Active Football!

Every penny will help us continue raising awareness of organ donation and support our future endeavours as a squad. We are blown away by the generosity shown today. Days like this is what we are about as it’s more than just football matches to us - it’s all about opening up conversations, supporting each other and building a community that fights against organ failure and shows the world the power of organ donation.

Thank you all once again—we truly couldn’t do it without you! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⚽
