ANOTHER BIG CUP DAY AT EDDLEWOOD PARK

After a brilliant turnout at the park on Saturday, we want to start by saying a huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported the team.

The backing we've received from the local community has been fantastic and is hugely appreciated by everyone at the club.

This Saturday we're back at Eddlewood Park for another cup tie as we welcome Dundee St James FC in the Scottish Communities Cup.

We'd love to see another big crowd through the gates.

Whether you've been coming along every week, joined us for the first time recently, or haven't made it down yet, come along and enjoy another afternoon of football at Eddlewood Park.

“I’m absolutely delighted to bring Craig to Eddlewood.

When you look at Craig’s career and what he’s achieved in the game, I think it shows the calibre of player we’re bringing to the club.

He spent eight years at Blantyre Victoria, making over 200 appearances and going on to captain the club. He played in the West of Scotland Premier Division and picked up both the Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year awards during his time there.

He then made the move to Kirkintilloch Rob Roy, where he’s been a regular over the last two seasons and was named their Coaches’ Player of the Year last season.

That’s a huge amount of experience and, importantly for us, Craig is still at an age where he has plenty of football ahead of him.

For Eddlewood, in our first season at this level, to attract a player with that pedigree is a massive statement for the club.

I also want to personally thank the committee for the amount of work they’ve put in behind the scenes to get this deal completed. There’s been a lot involved in making it happen and they’ve worked extremely hard to get it over the line.

We’ve always said that building this club is a marathon, not a sprint, but we’re certainly not here just to make up the numbers. We want to keep improving the squad and bringing in players who can help drive the standards we expect.

Craig brings quality, leadership and experience, and I’m delighted he’s chosen to be part of what we’re building here.”
