Yesterday High Legh played Helsby in the Norley afternoon league and the team won by 147 to 121. Well done to all the High Legh players. The result moved the team upto 5th place in the table and one point behind next week's opponents Owley Wood.

Some of the bowling club members went along to St Mary's Chapel, High Legh for an 'open day' to take a look inside this ancient church which was originally built in 1581. The chapel is rarely open so this was a fantastic opportunity to see the magnificent interior. The owners are looking for the chapel to be used on a more regular basis and are happy to host any local events or hire out the chapel for special occasions 🎉

Scorching afternoon at Helsby for the Norley B team who were narrowly defeated by 11 points on 'the carpet' which was running faster than ever before in the extreme heat. Well done to all the Norley B team as this is a very difficult 'green' to visit 👏

Yesterday the men's pairs competition took place at HLBC and thankfully the rain was only a light drizzle, so nobody got too soaked. The winners were Chris Ashton & Allan Rawnsley with Norman Harrison & Dirk Broad in the runners up spot. Thanks to everyone who come along to compete and mark cards. Plus the ladies who baked cakes, scones & made sausage rolls 😋

The Year 5 & Year 6 pupils from High Legh Primary School made their annual visit to the green this week for a bowling session guided by some of our experienced bowlers. The weather was not the best but the children really enjoyed their time on the green and there was some great bowling as well 👏 😃

What a grand day out to the North Wales Bowls Centre in Prestatyn. 24 club members came along for a very enjoyable day of bowling, followed by a lovely two course meal. There were several novice long mat bowlers amongst the attendees but they soon got the gist of how to play. First time long mat bowler Pam came out on top winning the first prize jointly with Trish. Carol and Debbie finished joint second also winning a cash prize each. Roll on the next trip to Prestatyn 😃
