Megan came to CEIS Ayrshire looking for support into work, with little work experience, and registered on the Working North Ayrshire Employability Programme. In just over a month, she landed a part-time job with Bonmarché.

Lynne, our Employability Team Lead, supported Megan at our Beith Youth Hub and discussed vacancies with her. Martine, our Business Services Team Lead, updated Megan’s CV and sent it to Bonmarché. While she waited to hear back, Lynne referred Megan to our Customer Service Sector-Based Work Academy Programme.

Megan’s interview was successful. After completing her induction, she came back to our office to finish the Sector-Based Work Academy Programme, with workshops including an overview of the retail industry, teamwork, and time and task management, all of which will support her in her new role.

It was a quick turnaround from meeting Lynne and Martine to landing a job. We’re delighted for Megan and wish her every success.

David hadn’t worked in a few years, but within three months of registering with CEIS Ayrshire he had secured a job with Tesco.

Each week David attended the Beith Youth Hub where he and his key worker, Lynne, updated his CV and cover letter and searched and applied for jobs.

Some applications didn’t work out, but David kept searching and applying. Martine, our Business Services Officer, informed David about employer information sessions and various other opportunities. One opportunity was a Sector-based Work Academy Programme (SWAP) with Tesco, organised by the DWP.

He was successful in gaining a place on the Tesco SWAP where he completed online training and four 4-hour trial shifts. The Tesco SWAP came to an end, and David attended a job interview with Tesco for a temporary Christmas role. David felt the interview went OK, although he noticed some pauses before he answered. He later found out he had been successful and secured the job, starting on 26 October.

Cameron registered with CEIS Ayrshire in 2025. He was unsure what work he wanted and had little confidence in how to find it.

Joanne supported Cameron with his employability skills and referred him to various programmes. During his time with us Cameron:

• Gained ten accredited certifications
• Earned his CSCS card
• Completed a boatbuilding course with the Maritime Museum

He initially wanted to work in construction; however, after some reflection he decided it wasn’t for him and landed a job with the Riverside Hotel as a Kitchen Porter.

Congratulations to Cameron and we wish him the best of luck in his new role.

When Frankie registered with CEIS Ayrshire in May, he was looking for the right support to get into work. Just 4 months later, he was in a job.

His Key Worker, Lynne Carr, got straight to work helping him become job ready. Lynne helped him update his CV and referred him to our Business Services team for mock interviews to sharpen his interview skills.

Frankie’s first application for a role in care didn’t go his way. Rather than be discouraged, he stayed open to new opportunities. He expressed an interest in getting his CSCS card to get his foot in the door of the construction sector. Lynne referred him to our skills and training team, and Frankie completed the full-day course, passed his tests and came away with his card.

In September, Frankie secured a temporary role with James Frew, and he’s hoping it will lead to a permanent position. We’re delighted for Frankie and wish him all the best in his new role.
