🔵🟡KENDAL UNITED RESERVES ARE BACK IN ACTION! 🔵🟡

After last weekend’s cup defeat, there’s been plenty of penalty practice this week… 👀😉 wink wink, nudge nudge!

Tomorrow brings another exciting first for the Reserves as we get to play at Castle Drive for the very first time! 🙌💛💙

We’re really looking forward to stepping out at the club’s main home ground and hopefully putting on a great game for everyone who comes along to support us.

Kendal United Girls Under 16 - Match Report
⚽️ Dalton 3–1 Kendal U16 ⚽️

Well done girls! 💪 It was always going to be a tough one today, especially with players unavailable and having to move a few girls into different positions.

We also had our keeper missing through injury, so a huge well done to Alice, who stepped in and did an amazing job 👏🧤

We went 1–0 down but battled back to make it 1–1 and really showed some fight. Unfortunately, Dalton managed to pull away in the end and finished 3–1.

It was a hard-fought battle in some really hot conditions ☀️🥵, and the girls never stopped working for each other.

Well done to every single one of you — you should be proud of the effort you put in today! ❤️⚽️

🔵🟡KENDAL UNITED RESERVES | MATCH REPORT 🔵🟡

Austin Wren Cup – First Round

Kendal United Reserves welcomed Lunesdale United to Castle Drive for our first cup game of the season.

A shaky first half saw Lunesdale take the lead around the 25-minute mark, but Kendal responded brilliantly with an absolute rocket from Callum Shepherd to make it 1-1! 🚀

Lunesdale restored their lead shortly afterwards, sending us into half-time 2-1 down.

The second half was a completely different story. Better communication, much-improved football and a few tactical changes saw Kendal really dig deep. Jacob Friar found the equaliser to make it 2-2! 👏

Both sides had chances, with some excellent goalkeeping at both ends, but neither could find a winner.

So, penalties it was…

After every single player from both squads had taken a penalty, we eventually went down 3-2. 😮‍💨

A special mention to Ben Walsh, who produced THREE outstanding penalty saves to keep us in it. 🧤👏

A fantastic, evenly matched cup game that could have gone either way. 2-2 probably doesn’t do it justice.
All in all a thoroughly entertaining couple of hours!

⚽ KU Colts U14s Match Report ⚽

Today, Kendal United Colts U14s welcomed Middleton & Overton U14s to Castle Drive.

The Colts started very strongly, applying pressure from the first whistle, creating plenty of chances, winning numerous corners and forcing some excellent saves from the Middleton goalkeeper.

Despite being on top for much of the first half, it was Middleton who took the lead against the run of play, going into half-time 1–0 ahead.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Kendal continuing to press and create opportunities. The Middleton goalkeeper was outstanding, making several more excellent saves, including saving a penalty to keep his side in front.

The Colts refused to give up and continued to push forward. Their persistence was eventually rewarded with a second penalty, which was calmly converted to make it 1–1.

The game finished all square, but the team showed fantastic determination and character, continuing to push right until the final whistle.

A special well done to Freddie and Cerys, who both made their home debuts today and were outstanding. 👏⚽️

Away at Wattsfield
On a dreadful Cumbria morning we had a great start taking the lead early on with some great football. The home side pulled it back to make it level at half time. 2nd half we started again pushing on taking the lead again only to concede nearly straight away. Wattsfield took the lead but we never gave up scoring 2 mins from the end

Match Report

A very early away start for the Rockets today, in absolutely miserable weather! But the team spirit and play between both teams was fantastic. Some excellent passing and so many chances. The Rockets had lots of strong runs up both wings, showing some excellent speed. Some fantastic battling and some epic goals. Hard work was put in due to the rain, making our goalies work so hard! It was really good to see how well some of the Rocket’s were reading the game and the decision making from that!

Match Report

Today saw the first Kendal United derby of the season, with Kendal United Colts hosting Kendal United Youth at the Millennium Playing Fields.

In wet and difficult conditions, both teams battled brilliantly from start to finish.

The Colts scored two early goals to settle themselves and from there kicked on relentlessly, playing some great football and giving Youth very little time on the ball.

A big shout-out to today’s referee, who had an excellent first game refereeing, enforcing the basic rules including the five-yard distance really well. 👏

Well done to both teams for battling to the end in tough conditions and playing the game in great spirits. 💙💛
