The Blues were on the road again this morning, heading to a very chilly and not-so-sunny Saltcoats! 🥶 The boys certainly needed a decent warm-up before kick-off to get themselves thawed out!

From the first whistle, the Boys looked sharp and quickly established themselves in the game. They moved the ball around well, worked hard for each other and created plenty of early chances. There was some excellent passing, great movement off the ball and plenty of determination throughout the team. 💙👏

The first goal soon followed from Jude, and once the boys found their rhythm, they really started to take control of the game. They continued to push forward, with some fantastic attacking play and some cool as you like finishing.

Ardeer continued to plug way and never gave up 👏👏 the blues kept their focus and continued to play their brand of football. They worked hard as a team, defended well when needed and were always looking to create the next opportunity. It was great to see the boys supporting each other, with plenty of communication and encouragement from everyone on the pitch. 👏

Goals were for the following:

Jay ⚽️ (Sponsored by TJ Tattoos)
Smith ⚽️ (Sponsored by Acupuncture by Amy)
Beattie ⚽️
Oscar ⚽️ (Sponsored by Webb Windows and Doors)
Geo ⚽️ (Sponsored by Ayrshire Accident Repair Centre)

The refs player of the match was Jude 👏👏 hat trick, killer passes, classy performance all round

The coaches player of the match was Kyle 👏👏 relentless performance, eye for goal was unmatched

Most importantly, it was another great TEAM performance from the Blues. Every single boy played their part, whether that was scoring goals, creating chances, defending, winning tackles or simply working hard for their teammates.

Thanks to Ardeer Thistle and good luck for the rest of the season!

Crosshouse Reds 1 - Dean Thistle Reds 🔴 3

We started really brightly and very much like last week we found ourselves 1 nil down early on but the lads didn't panic and the clear message before the game was to keep calm and not get frustrated if we went behind. It wasn't long before we levelled from a carbon copy of the goal last week with Colton glancing a header from a near post run to a Jenson corner.

We went in level at half time with the remainder of the half played in the middle of the park with Jax, Colton, and AT providing a midfield masterclass. Dean scored a 2nd not long into the 2nd half after some lovely play down the Crosshouse right with a great ball into Archie who layoff was absolutely perfect for Colton to hit an unstoppable volley for 25 yards which sored into the corner of the net 🤩.

There was a 5/10min spell towards the end of the game where Crosshouse had a lot of the ball and looked to put us under pressure but the defensive back 4 held firm, the defenders don't get the credit or appreciation they deserve when we win games so a huge shout out to all the boys that played in there today!

Dean nearly scored there 3rd when Glen reacted quickly to a keeper spill who slid in only for the keeper to somehow stop the ball on the line, in that process Glen picked up a nasty gash to his knee and a short trip to A&E for a clean and few stitches.

Colton finished his hat trick with a header after he out jumped the Crosshouse defender from another great cross from Jenson, the referee blew the full time whistle as the boys were still in the process of celebrating.

It was very hard to single out any boy because they were all so good but we thought Arron was outstanding today, his positioning today allowed Jax and Colton the freedom to get forward.

All the best wishes and a speedy recovery to Glen from all the coaches and team mates.

Thanks for all the support 👏👏👏

Scottish Cup Round 2 🏆

Dean Thistle Reds 🔴 4- Gretna 1

In the hat for the 3rd round 🏆

Jax ⚽️
Colton ⚽️⚽️
Archie ⚽️

After a few weeks without a game you could see the boys were up for it today and started brightly creating a host of chances early doors and could easily have been up by a few goals, Gretna took a the lead against the run of play with a high straight ball through the heart of the Dean defence with a nice lobbed finish, credit to our boys they didnt panic in any way and the onfield message was very positive from them.

It wasnt long before we leveled the game with some excellent pressing play high on the Gretna left, a nice cut back to Jax on the edge of the box who struck a sweet strike high past a excellent Gretna keeper, we went in level at the half.

The 2nd half started much the same a the first with Dean on top and took the lead after a string of corners from Jenson found Colton with a glancing header from a front post run.

The boys seemed to relax after that and had some really good combination play all over the park, the movement on and off the ball from the boys was a huge positive to take away from today.

Colton scored his 2nd of the game but goal of the game came from a lovely through ball from an unplayable Jax who found Archie who opened his body with a curling effort that sailed over the keepers head, Archie shortly after was in again and was brought down in the box, the resulting penalty from Colton was superbly saved by the Gretna keeper low to his bottom right.

Full time 4-1 and into the next round!

Referees Player of the Match - Jax 👏 👏👏

Coaches Player of the Match - Jax 👏 👏👏

An around perfect performance from the wee man today 😀.
