Had a great day out with my uncle John Huntley today, I had 2 out, best one 14lb 6oz, he had 5, best one 19lb 13oz at last light as we were packing up. It's been great to catch up because we don't see each other that often anymore, but hopefully there'll be more sessions in the near future when we both have some free time 😊

Thursday (6/11/25) marked the first time in 25 years that I returned to the venue where I caught my personal best 37lb 3oz pike back in 1996... true to form the place is still hard as hell and neither me or my dad got a run between us!
But that being said it felt like a long overdue homecoming for me even though the place now had new owners and looked nothing like it did last time I was here.... looking round it I could still pick out spots where memorable moments had took place when I was a teenager.
This isn't the last time I'll be here this year, its the beginning of a brand new chapter in my history with the place

Had a great day last Sunday 19/10/25, 30 fish total including 2x 2lb perch and a new pole pb carp 5oz 😁

Had 8 carp for 103lb today while testing some new pellets on method feeder.... needless to say i think they worked 💪
Also had a new personal best (ever) carp at 20lb 7oz! I know some of you may scoff at that but as I've said several times I don't really target the big carp so to get that was awesome, especially on method feeder with 8lb mainline and 7lb hooklink 😁

Another highlight from Monday 25/8/25 at Riverside Fisheries, Barrow upon Humber.
The venue record stands at 22lb so thats the next target. Ive never really deliberately targeted big carp, its just not my thing.... I still enjoy day sessions like this one occasionally but i definitely prefer my pole and/or waggler/feeder set ups 👍

When you hit the right spot......

A little over a week to go before this match, if anyone wants on there's only 3 places left so I'd recommend getting in touch with Des Clarke on the number shown 😉

Fished at Barnburgh lakes for the first time ever...
drew peg 7 bottom lake, which was the area I wanted because I'd noticed all the bigger weights come from that lake vs the other lakes on the complex.
I already knew there were plenty of f1s in here, so I started off on jigger at 11m hoping they'd come to the noise, but after 30 mins I only had a 6oz roach. My gut told me I needed to be against the far bank but at nearly 15m I couldn't reach it with my pole (its only 13m max.... need an upgrade soon methinks 😬).
So out came the method rod, I spent much of the rest of the day alternating between method, shallow and my near margin for 49lb 5oz and 5th out of 14 on my lake. I would have had just over 50lb but I managed to roll a 2lb f1 over the rim of my keepnet and back into the lake 😂😂😂
Big thanks to my dad who treat me to my bait for the day since I become closer to 50 than 40 this coming Thurs 21/8/25.
Also a massive thanks to Dan on peg 6 for the banter and conversation that kept me focused for the duration of the match, also congratulations since he ended up winning with 163lb 1oz 😃
