Fatty liver disease is becoming increasingly common, but there's still a lot of confusion about what causes it and what you can actually do about it.

It's not simply about eating too much fat.

It's not caused by one "bad" food.

And you definitely don't need a detox.

The liver is closely connected to our metabolism, and increasingly, we're learning about the role of the gut-liver axis and how the gut microbiome may influence metabolic health.

But the good news is that the things that support your overall health are also the things that can support your liver:

πŸ₯¦ Eating a fibre-rich, varied diet
πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ Being physically active
πŸ’ͺ Building and maintaining muscle
βš–οΈ Managing weight if appropriate for you
😴 Getting enough sleep
🍺 Being mindful of alcohol intake

The key word is sustainable.

You don't need to overhaul your entire life overnight.

You need to find the changes that you can make consistently, and keep making them.

Have you heard of MASLD before, or did you know it as NAFLD?

Have you ever eaten a full meal and then suddenly found yourself craving chocolate?

Or opened the cupboard even though you know you're not physically hungry?

You're not imagining it.

Our relationship with food is influenced by multiple systems, not just an empty stomach.

Understanding the difference between homeostatic hunger, hedonic hunger and the gut microbiome can help us become more aware of why we're reaching for certain foods.

The good news is that we don't have to fight these signals.

We can learn to recognise them.

We can build meals that keep us satisfied.

We can make our food environment work for us.

And we can support our gut microbiome with a diverse, fibre-rich diet.

The more we understand about why we eat, the easier it becomes to make choices that align with our goals.

Which one do you think influences your food choices the most?

🏠 Physical hunger
🍫 Food cravings
🦠 Gut health

We often think healthy living is about saying "no" to the foods we enjoy.

I don't see it that way.

Food should absolutely bring pleasure. Sharing a meal with friends, enjoying birthday cake or having your favourite takeaway now and then are all part of a balanced life.

The problem comes when we're constantly chasing short-term pleasure at the expense of long-term happiness.

Eating for comfort can feel good for a few minutes.

Skipping a workout might feel easier today.

Staying on the sofa instead of going for a walk gives immediate relief.

None of those choices make you a bad person.

But if they become your default response, they can slowly move you further away from the health, confidence and energy you're really looking for.

The healthiest people I work with aren't the ones who never enjoy treats.

They're the ones who find happiness in feeling strong, sleeping well, having energy, moving their bodies and knowing they're looking after themselves.

I'd love to know...

Which do you think society encourages more - pleasure or happiness?

Which are you chasing?

Have you ever started a new diet full of motivation, convinced that this time you're going to change everything?

You buy healthier food.

You promise yourself you'll exercise every day.

You cut out all the foods you enjoy.

You tell yourself you'll never miss a workout.

Then life happens.

You get busy.

You feel tired.

One missed workout turns into a missed week, and suddenly you're back where you started, feeling frustrated and blaming yourself.

But here's the thing...

You didn't fail because you lacked willpower.

You failed because you tried to build too many new habits at once.

Imagine trying to learn to drive, speak a new language, and play the piano all at the same time.

It would feel overwhelming.

Building healthy habits works exactly the same way.

Instead of asking yourself, "How can I change my whole lifestyle this week?"

Ask yourself:

"What's one small thing I can do consistently?"

Master that one habit.

Then build on it.

That's how lasting change happens.

That's also how I coach every client in my 12-Week Fat Loss & Habit Change Programme. We focus on creating habits that fit your life - not a perfect plan that only works for a few days.

πŸ’¬ I'd love to know...

If you could improve just ONE habit this week, what would it be?

Share it in the comments πŸ‘‡

How was your weekend?

Be honest...

Are you waking up today thinking:

πŸ‘‰ "I'll start again today."
πŸ‘‰ "I've completely blown it."
πŸ‘‰ "I need to be really strict this week."

If that's you, I want to ask one question...

Why do you keep repeating the same cycle?

It's easy to blame a lack of willpower, but in reality, that's rarely the problem.

Most people don't overeat at the weekend because they're weak.

They overeat because they've spent Monday to Friday trying to be "perfect."

They've cut out the foods they enjoy.

They've ignored cravings.

They've tried to survive on motivation alone.

By the weekend, something has to give.

The goal isn't to have a "perfect" weekend.

The goal is to create a way of eating that includes weekends, meals out, birthdays, takeaways and time with family, without feeling like you've failed.

If your weekends are constantly undoing your progress, don't ask yourself how to have more willpower.

Ask yourself whether your plan is actually sustainable.

πŸ’¬ I'd love to know...

Do weekends usually help your progress or make it harder?

If you want some help to stay on track on a weekend comment HELP and we can book a chat to see if my coaching program is for you.

What do YOU need to stay on track?

If you've ever said...

πŸ‘‰ "I know what to do, I just don't do it."

Then this question is for you.

What would genuinely help you stay consistent?

πŸ’¬ More accountability?

πŸ“š Better knowledge?

πŸ‹οΈ A structured training plan?

πŸ₯— Clear nutrition targets?

πŸ‘₯ A supportive community?

πŸ“± Someone to check in with?

❀️ More confidence?

The truth is, most people don't fail because they lack information.

They struggle because they don't have the support and systems to keep going when life gets busy.

That's why my coaching isn't just about telling you what to eat or giving you a workout plan.

It's about helping you stay consistent, even when motivation disappears.

πŸ‘‡ So tell me...

What's the ONE thing that would help you stay on track right now?

I'd love to hear your answer in the comments.

If you need some support join our 12 week coaching program for the price of a personal training session per week.

People often compare online coaching to a gym membership.

The better comparison?

A personal trainer.

Instead of one hour each week, you'll have access to coaching, accountability, nutrition guidance, training support, and habit coaching throughout the week.

Because the biggest challenges don't happen during your workout.

They happen when you're standing in front of the fridge at 9pm, ordering takeaway on Friday night, or wondering if you've "blown it" after one bad day.

That's where coaching changes everything.
