There's a NEW Baby Yoga course with Cass from Karinya Yoga at the Ferguson Fawsitt Arms in Walkington.
Mondays from 14th September at 11.30am, 5 week course.
It's 45 minute session then mums can stay for a cuppa afterwards in the pub.

We’ve had such a lovely summer so far in Hull, and so much of it has been free or low cost. We've done a lot, and not spent much.

We've had a few families from out of town come and stay with us over the summer and I've felt genuinely proud to show them around. They couldn't believe all the museums we took them in were free, they were wowed by how beautiful the marina and fruit market looked, impressed by the variety of independent shops and cafes/bars, and were stunned by how historical the Old Town and Minster area are.

I think we take it for granted, but having other people stop and say 'wow' so many times and tell us how great Hull is has made me reflect on just lucky we are.

It actually felt like we were on holiday abroad when strolling around Hull marina in the heatwave! There is still plenty of summer left to enjoy our city, whatever the weather does for the rest of it.

Starting the weekend in style! With a dog walk around Burton Constable Hall

Between the epic showers we had a nice walk and the kids enjoyed the giant games in the parklands, and cafe stop of course. Our dog was very excited about his new walk too!

This weekend they have outdoor theatre, A Midsummer Nights Dream, suitable for ages 5-16, with a few tickets left. I took my kids to outdoor theatre here a a few years ago and we were reminiscing about it on our walk today!

💜There 's another themed character skate event at Hull Ice Arena, 10.30am, please book in advance. This time it's Pirates and Fairies. We did one of these earlier this month, with lights, music, characters and face painting they make a skate session even better!
💜Back to Ours have their Right on Your Doorstep tour coming to HU3. Music, circus, comedy and outdoor entertainment right to your doorstep. 12-3pm, free event, just turn up. Please note new location for this one - Amy Johnson Park / Hawthorne Playground, Westbrick Ave, HU3 5QG
💜Hull & East Yorkshire MIND have a Mindful Makers Market at the Pier Street pop up space off Humber Street, 11am–4pm, free Entry.

Hessle Theatre Company are performing at Hull Truck Theatre next month with the amazing musical Dear Evan Hansen.
Age guidance for this one is 14+ but it's a great watch if you want to have an evening out with an older teen or a friend, I saw the west end show on tour in Hull earlier this year loved it.
Catch it at Hull Truck Tues 8th to Saturday 12th September.

We've been to check out the newly refurbished and re-opened Hull Maritime Museum!

It feels like it's been closed for a very long time but when you go inside and see the attention to detail during the huge renovation the whole building has undergone, as well as the collections, you can see why!
There is so much maritime history to see and learn about. We were really impressed with the building itself and everything we saw. And it's still FREE entry!

There are some interactive areas for children but I'd say this museums isn't really one for tots and small children (the other Hull Museums cater for those ages more).
My tween liked looking at the displays and reading some bits but to be honest I am actually going to visit again child free as this is one I really want to look at properly. I also want to take my in-laws as the history about the city is incredible and they will really enjoy it.

It is accessible and there were people taking prams around but it was a bit tight in places and queues for the lift so I'd recommend ditching the pram and using a sling if you can.
It was also very hot despite it being a cooler day so don't overdress!
You can book a timeslot in advance here https://www.hullmuseums.co.uk/book-maritime, we did this and walked straight in. You can just turn up but there was quite a big queue for that so I'd definitely recommend booking.

Last free craft workshop next week at Prospect Shopping Centre, then it's their big Summer Parade on 1st September....

PQA Beverley have a new venue from September - you can now find them at Beverley Grammar School.
These are fantastic weekend performing arts classes - their main academy is for 6-18 years and they have a Poppets academy for 4-5 year olds.
PQA Hull also still runs from Tranby School in Anlaby.
