Banks 11-0 Goole Athletic.

Comprehensive Victory for the Banks lads as they coasted to double figures.

The game started slow from both sides as they struggled to find rhythm however it was Banks who struck first through N.Oladjko, following this, the goals started flowing as Banks found theirselves 5 goals to the good by the interval with some great free flowing attacking on show.

Banks refused to slow down in the 2nd half as they scored again within minutes of the whistle. An astounding attacking performance overwhelmed Goole Athletic, with some keen finishing and lovely passing play on show. A clinical affair from our attacking personnel of: Oladjko Złotoś Oddy and Morgan-Hanson contributed 9 of the 11 goals, in an emphatic affair.

MOTM: N.Oladjko

2 goals and 3 assists from Oladjko sent him well on the way for today’s MOTM, clinical in the first half as well as turning his hand to playmaking, creating 3 further goals. Oladjko was ruthless in attack and his press from the front. Rounding off a cracking display all round 👏

Onto Sands away next week where we will hope to carry our fine form on.

HAWORTH PARK FESTIVAL: Semi Final defeat.

Despite a valiant effort, Banks suffered penalty shoot out heartbreak after a hard fought game against Fat Dads.

Game 1: Banks 0-0 Rockford

Banks was the much better side and saw multiple chances go amiss, however had to settle for a point.

Game 2: Banks 3-0 Sands

Banks outgunned Sands in our second encounter with three quick fire goals through J.Allen, A.Oddy & K.Wadforth, to put us in a commanding position going into game 3 needing only a point.

Game 3: Banks 3-0 Graces
Banks again hit 3 to top the group with 7 points and +6GD. R.Thomas created moment of the game with a luscious cross to tee up K.Wadforth, Thomas also got his hand in the goals alongside A.Oddy grabbing his second for banks to coast to victory.

Semi Final: Banks 0-0 Fat Dads (1-4 Pens)

Banks fell short at the semi final stage despite being the better side in the tie. Banks dominated the short timed affair, with the sheer pace and skills outdoing Fat Dads brute strength and power but was to no avail as Banks couldn’t finish a plethora of chances due to a quality performance from Fat Dads man between the sticks.

Penalties wasn’t to be as Banks saw the first 2 penalties saves, as FD converted. By the time J.Stonehouse had scored his penalty, FD finalised the tie with a 4-1 penalty victory.

A massive thank you to Pete and Dean at West Hull for inviting us down and putting on a great festival. The commitment is commended.

Onto next week where we are back in MAI league action, facing Sands Utd at home.

FT | Banks slump to defeat in spite of a spirited performance.

The first half began an end to end encounter with neither side really stamping their authority on the game. Banks however soon took control especially in the middle of the park, winning duels, playing some great passes and carving out some great opportunities and could’ve easily find theirselves a couple of goals up but for the lack of end product in the 18 yard box. Banks thereafter round theirselves 1 down after a mix up at the back following a set piece found its way in. The momentum then swung in M4M favour and they played some great football across the park to soon find theirselves 3 goals to the good within 40 mins. Banks kept pushing and grabbed a goal towards the end of the half as a slick cut back from C.Morgan-Hanson round T.Munjeri who converted from range.

The 2nd half began as the 1st had finished as Banks continued to churn out chance after chance to no avail and was very unfortunate not to cut the deficit. M4M then hit their 4th with a well taken goal, to knock the wind out of a spirited Banks team. Banks continued to push forward and was the better team in the closing quarter but just couldn’t find another goal.

MOTM: R.Thomas

MOTM could’ve gone to a multitude of players today, namely our backline who kept strong amongst a barrage of attacks at one stage, marshalling every encounter and keeping Banks resilient. A special mention also goes to stand in captain J.Allen who ran his blood to water today, keep the attack ticking over, winning an array of aerial duels and didn’t stop pressing for the the whole game. However today’s MOTM goes to R.Thomas, who had a strong game on the wing, running hard and linking play well with the men on the inside, Thomas found himself in some great positions going forward and was unlucky as not to convert at least one.

Onto next week when we take part in the West Hull OGs Spring Festival, hoping to bring home some silverware and raise money for some great local causes.
