Chris Doyle will be running our next SIA Close Protection Refresher course in Liverpool:

This course is for existing Close Protection Operatives who need to renew their SIA Close Protection licence and remain current, competent and compliant.

The course covers:

✅ Legal and professional responsibilities
✅ Use of force, reporting and duty of care
✅ Threat and risk awareness
✅ Search procedures for people, bags, vehicles, routes and venues
✅ Physical intervention refresher skills
✅ Terror threat awareness and vulnerable people

Before attending, learners must have:

✅ A valid First Aid certificate with at least 12 months remaining on the first day of training
✅ Completed ACT Awareness e-learning
✅ Completed ACT Security e-learning

On successful completion, QNUK will notify the SIA directly so you can proceed with your licence renewal.

From 1 April 2026, this training became mandatory and will support your SIA licence renewal when the time comes.

Completing the training early is a sensible step and should help make your renewal process as straightforward as possible.

The refresher course for CPOs is designed to meet the mandatory requirements introduced under the updated SIA rules that came into effect on 1 April 2026.

Once you successfully complete the course, you will have met the additional training requirement.

The PBA course includes both practical and knowledge-based assessments, in line with the qualification requirements.

Results are normally issued shortly after the final practical assessments have taken place, once all internal quality assurance checks have been completed.
